- Description
- Essential oil Eucalyptus Globulus gives products a fresh, cooling and distinctly cineole-rich scent that everyone associates with eucalyptus. It is obtained by steam distillation from the leaves of the Eucalyptus globulus tree and contains 80–85% 1,8-cineole (eucalyptol), which carries both the scent and the cooling sensation on the skin. It is most commonly used in massage and body oils, shower gels, shampoos and scalp products, bath salts and diffusers. The oil is of plant origin and vegan. Key benefits Cooling effect – the high content of 1,8-cineole produces a sensation of cold and freshness on the skin. Suitable for post-sport massage oils, foot products and summer body cosmetics. Deodorisation – the fresh scent masks unpleasant odours, which is why the oil is used in shower gels, bath salts and air fresheners. Antimicrobial effect – in cosmetics this is a supplementary property. It does not replace the product's preservation system. Antioxidation – supports protection of the oil phase against oxidation. The extent of the effect depends on the dosage and composition of the product. Scalp refreshment – according to the manufacturer, it gives shampoos, conditioners and hair tonics a cooling, invigorating sensation on the scalp and a fresh scent to hair. The manufacturer also mentions soothing irritated skin and supporting clear skin in their materials. These are manufacturer data and should be verified in the finished product. Use in formulation The oil is insoluble in water and dissolves in oils and alcohol. In anhydrous products (massage oils, balms, bath oils) it is mfull description on the product page →
