- Description
- TAED, sodium percarbonate activator, blue (INCI: Tetraacetylethylendiamine ; CAS: 10543-57-4 ) is an organic compound used as an oxygen bleach activator in laundry and cleaning formulations. From a technological point of view, it is a product of chemical synthesis (acetylation of ethylenediamine), which is subsequently processed into granules for use in powders and tablets. The “blue” version usually means that the TAED is colour coded (e.g. with a trace pigment or a coloured surface of the granules) for easier identification, visual control of dosing or differentiation from other white powder ingredients. In combination with sodium percarbonate it increases the effectiveness already at lower temperatures – in the wash liquor it promotes the formation of peracetic acid , which improves stain removal and the hygienic effect typically in the range of 30–60 °C (compared to percarbonate without activator). The exact type of dye/pigment used in “blue” TAED is not available without the attached technical data sheet. Key benefits Activates sodium percarbonate already at lower temperatures – effective oxygen bleaching around 30–60 °C . Increases stain removal and overall bleaching performance compared to percarbonate used on its own. Supports the hygienic effect – by forming more reactive oxidative species in the wash liquor. Chlorine-free bleaching system – suitable for more ecological laundry and cleaning formulations. Colour differentiation (blue granules) – practical when working with dry blends (identification, control of homogeneity). Suitable for products such as Laundry powfull description on the product page →
