- Lauryl Lactyl Lactate is a mild anionic emulsifier and surfactant produced by esterification of lactic acid and lauric acid . It is a substance of natural origin, biodegradable and approved for use in natural cosmetics. It is used mainly as a mild cleansing and emulsifying agent that at the same time improves the moisturization and conditioning properties of products. Due to its character, it is suitable for formulations where high skin tolerance and mildness are required. The recommended dosage in the formulation is approximately 1–5 % , depending on the type of product and the desired effect. It is compatible with anionic, nonionic and amphoteric surfactants, while improving their mildness and skin tolerability. It is stable over a wide pH range (4–7), which allows its use in most cosmetic products. HLB value: 5 - 6 Safety rating of the raw material according to EWG: 1 (low risk, safe use in cosmetics) .
