The glass jar made of amber glass with a black lid is a wide pot for thicker preparations applied with fingers or a spatula — for creams, body butters, balms, ointments, scrubs, masks, and dry blends. Amber glass reduces light transmission, making it particularly suitable for light-sensitive contents where white or clear packaging offers insufficient protection.

Glass is a sturdy, chemically resistant, and inert material — it does not react with contents, tolerates fatty and essential-oil-rich formulations, and releases no unwanted substances into them. The jar is best suited for thicker leave-on preparations that are not dispensed by pump or dropper — creams and cream emulsions, body and whipped butters, lip and body balms, ointments, solid perfumes, scrubs, clay and cream masks. Thanks to the wide opening it is also practical for dry blends (bath salts, powder masks), and thanks to food-contact approval it can also hold homemade oils, honey, herbal blends, or kitchen ointments.

It is less suitable for liquid and spray formulations (tonics, serums, sprays), where a bottle with a dropper or pump works better.

Good to know

The packaging is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The nominal volume is the quantity the jar is designed for under normal filling conditions; the total brim-full volume is the larger physical capacity up to the neck. The difference provides a reserve for the lid and for expansion of the contents, so filling to the very top is not recommended.

Before first use, wash both the jar and lid, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry thoroughly. For leave-on cosmetics without a dedicated preservation system, keep in mind that the packaging protects the contents but does not replace a preservative system on its own.

Both the glass and the aluminium lid are recyclable and, once emptied and cleaned, should be sorted into separate glass and metal collection streams.
