Plastic bottle HDPE 28/410, white, 500 ml

A white plastic bottle made of HDPE with a capacity of 500 ml is designed for larger packaging of cosmetics and household care products used daily: shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps, conditioners, body lotions, and cleaning products. The material is lightweight and shatterproof, making it suitable for the bathroom, shower, and workshop where glass would be impractical.

The white opaque body limits light exposure to the contents and conceals their colour. This is an advantage for products with natural extracts and oils that change shade over time.

Which products is the bottle suitable for

• Rinse-off hair and body cosmetics – shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, and liquid soaps, where a 500 ml volume is used up within a reasonable period of regular use.
• Body lotions and thinner emulsions – fluid contents dispense easily from the bottle; thick creams and butters are better suited to a jar or pot.
• Toning and aqueous preparations in larger packaging – for example, refills from which the product is transferred into smaller containers.
• Household care and technical use – cleaning products, dishwashing formulations, and laundry gels.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 500 ml is the amount for which the bottle is designed under normal filling conditions. The total volume to the brim is slightly larger, as it represents the physical capacity up to the neck. The difference serves as a reserve for the cap, pump, or spray head with a dip tube, and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes.

Cap and neck

The bottle has a neck with a 28/410 thread. Caps with the same neck type and ready-made bottle-and-cap combinations are available in the Handymade range. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying tightness and dispensing performance with the specific formulation, particularly for thick or very thin products.

What to know before filling

• Preparing the container – before first filling, wash the bottle, rinse it, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow it to dry completely. Residual water in the bottle increases the risk of microbial contamination.
• Filling temperature – HDPE is a thermoplastic and softens at high temperatures. Fill products after they have cooled; hot filling should first be tested on a single unit.
• Labelling – apply the label to a dry, degreased surface. Dimensions needed for label design are listed in the product parameters.
• Reuse – the bottle can be refilled with the same product type after thorough washing, disinfection, and drying. After strongly fragranced contents, the material may retain a residual scent. A scratched or deformed bottle is best discarded.
• Recycling – HDPE is one of the commonly recyclable plastics.
