Yes, the container can be used repeatedly, provided it is intended for a similar type of contents and you observe all hygiene and safety rules when handling hydroxide and other alkaline solutions. Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured vegetable. Only after it has completely dried and its cleanliness has been checked is the bottle ready for further use.
First completely empty the contents and rinse the container several times with an appropriate amount of water, while observing safety rules when handling residues of hydroxide. Then we recommend using a mild cleaning agent, rinsing thoroughly with clean water and, after drying, disinfecting the inner surface with an alcohol solution (for example with the products IPA 99 or ethanol 96). This minimises the risk of contamination of the next filling solution.
If you decide not to reuse the container, first empty it completely and, if possible, rinse it thoroughly so that no hazardous residues of the hydroxide solution remain. Then sort the container according to the material indicated in the product parameters – for plastic bottles this generally means sorting into the appropriate plastic container, or according to local rules for the collection of hazardous packaging. Always respect local regulations and recommendations for handling packaging from chemical substances so that recycling is safe for the environment and for collection workers.
