Aluminium cap, silver, 24/410

The aluminium screw cap 24/410 is a twist-on closure for bottles and vials with the same neck type. It suits packaging that should look clean and minimal while providing a reliable seal – for serums, facial and body oils, tonics, lotions, tinctures or aromatherapy blends. The silver metal surface replaces a plastic cap and gives the packaging a uniform appearance.

The closure is intended for cosmetic products, in cosmetic and technical grade. The suitability of the packaging material for cosmetics is supported by technical documentation.

Key features

• EPE liner – the inner insert made of expanded polyethylene presses against the neck rim when tightened and seals the container. No additional sealing insert is needed for standard oil-based or water-based contents.
• Metal body – aluminium is rigid and does not deform with repeated opening the way a thin-walled plastic closure eventually can. The packaging looks more premium without changing the material of the bottle itself.
• Low weight – the closure adds minimal weight to a shipment, which is practical for larger batches and for e-commerce sales.
• Colour-independent – silver matches clear, amber, blue and frosted glass alike, so one closure type works across an entire product line.

Use and combining

The cap fits any neck marked 24/410. Bottles and vials with this neck type, as well as ready-made container and closure combinations, are available in the Handymade range. When making your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal with the specific formulation, especially if the container will be transported on its side.

The closure does not include a dispensing element. If you need to drip or spray the contents, use a dropper or a sprayer with the same neck size. The aluminium cap is intended for sealing containers from which the contents are poured or scooped.

Good to know

Before first filling, we recommend washing and disinfecting both the cap and bottle with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing them to dry completely. Moisture trapped under the liner could promote microbial growth with water-based formulations.

With contents containing a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, it is advisable to test the behaviour of the EPE liner in the finished product, as some components may soften the liner over time. No such effect is expected with common carrier oils, hydrolates and tonics.

Do not clean the aluminium surface with the abrasive side of a sponge or abrasive products, as this will leave visible marks. Warm water with a mild detergent is sufficient. The closure is reusable provided the liner is not pushed out or torn. Check it before each new filling.

Apply labels to the bottle, not to the cap. The metal surface is small and a label would interfere with opening.

Aluminium is a recyclable material. Before disposal, simply remove the liner if the local collection system requires it.
