Product description

A plastic bottle with a white spray pump is a ready-to-use set for thin, water- and alcohol-based formulas applied by spraying: facial tonics, hydrolats, hair and body sprays, or room fragrances. The clear PET bottle is lightweight and, unlike glass, shatterproof, making it suitable for the bathroom, handbag, or travel. Through the transparent wall you can see the colour of the formula and how much is left.

The bottle with a nominal volume of 100 ml has a tall, slim shape that sits comfortably in one hand. The spray pump disperses the contents into fine droplets and applies them in a thin, even layer, which is practical for face, hair, and larger areas of the body.

What the set is suitable for

  • Facial tonics and hydrolats – thin, water-based formulas spray evenly and can be applied without a cotton pad.
  • Hair sprays and leave-in spray conditioners – thin formulas without thickeners that can be distributed along the lengths of the hair are suitable.
  • Body and refreshing mists – the 100 ml volume lasts for extended use, and the bottle remains small enough for travel.
  • Room and fabric fragrances, alcohol-based sprays – both the bottle and the spray pump are of cosmetic and technical quality, so the set is suitable for non-cosmetic applications as well.

How the spray pump doses

One press delivers a small dose, approximately 0.12 ml. The amount dispensed can therefore be controlled by the number of presses, and the contents are used up slowly. The spray pump is designed for thin liquids with a consistency close to water. Thick, gel-based, or oily formulas do not form a fine mist — they come out as a stream or clog the mechanism entirely. The same applies to formulas containing solid particles, such as clays, glitters, or undissolved botanical residues.

On first use, press the head several times until the mechanism fills with liquid. The dip tube should reach close to the bottom of the bottle. If it is too long, trim it with a diagonal cut so it does not suction against the bottom and the bottle can be emptied almost completely.

Formulas containing solubilised essential oils or extracts should be filtered before filling. A slight haze in the formula is not a problem, but solid particles will gradually clog the nozzle.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed to hold during normal filling. The total brim-full volume is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference serves as a reserve for the spray pump mechanism with its dip tube, which displaces some contents when screwed on, and for the expansion of the liquid when temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

Useful information

Before first filling, wash the bottle, sanitise it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and leave it to dry completely. Spray a small amount of the sanitiser through the pump and allow it to drip dry.

PET does not tolerate hot filling. Fill the product only after it has cooled to room temperature; at higher temperatures the bottle will deform.

The material tolerates common water-based and alcohol-based solutions. Caution is advised with a high proportion of essential oils and with solvents that can degrade plastic over time. The clear bottle also provides no protection against light. Formulas containing light-sensitive substances — such as certain botanical extracts, vitamins, or natural dyes — should be stored in a cabinet or drawer, not on a windowsill.

Both the bottle and the spray pump are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set is not intended for food use. Dimensions needed for label design are listed in the parameters. Labels adhere to the smooth cylindrical wall on a dry, degreased surface.

Additional closures with the same neck type listed in the parameters, as well as ready-made combinations, are available in the Handymade range. When assembling your own combination, we recommend checking the seal, dosage, and packaging behaviour with your specific formula. At the end of its service life, separate the spray pump from the bottle and sort both parts as plastic.

Frequently asked questions

What products is the 100 ml plastic spray bottle suitable for?
It is suitable for thin, water- and alcohol-based formulas applied by spraying. These include facial tonics, hydrolats, hair sprays, body mists, room fragrances, and alcohol-based sprays. The spray pump delivers a small dose in fine droplets with each press, so the formula is applied in a thin layer and used economically.
Can oil or gel be sprayed through the spray pump on the plastic bottle?
No, the spray pump is designed for liquids with a consistency close to water. Oils and thick formulas do not form a fine mist and come out as a stream; gels clog the mechanism. Solid particles in the formula — such as clays or glitters — are also problematic. For oils and thicker formulas, a bottle with a lotion pump or flip-top closure is more suitable.
Does the clear PET spray bottle protect the contents from light?
No, clear PET transmits light and does not protect the contents from it. Formulas containing light-sensitive substances may change in colour or scent over time. Such formulas should be stored in the dark, for example in a cabinet, or packed in a dark-coloured container. For formulas that are not light-sensitive, simply avoid leaving the bottle in direct sunlight.
Is the PET spray bottle suitable for alcohol-based sprays and essential oils?
For common alcohol-based solutions, yes; for concentrated essential oils, no. PET tolerates water-based formulas and ethanol blends, such as room fragrances. Undiluted essential oils and strong solvents can degrade plastic over time. For formulas with a higher proportion of essential oils, we recommend testing the packaging behaviour on a trial sample.
Can the plastic spray bottle be reused?
Yes, both the bottle and the spray pump can be refilled after cleaning. Wash the bottle with lukewarm water and detergent, sanitise with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and leave it to dry. Spray clean water through the pump followed by sanitiser to clean the dip tube and nozzle as well. PET does not tolerate hot water or boiling; it will deform at high temperatures.
