Disc top cap, aluminium + PP, gold, transparent centre, 24/410 is a closure for bottles with a 24/410 neck that opens by pressing the disc. It is suitable for liquid to medium-viscosity products dispensed by squeezing the bottle: shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, body lotions, liquid soaps or cleansing gels. The gold metallic sleeve gives the packaging a finished look without additional decoration, and the transparent centre allows you to check that the dispensing opening is clean.

The cap body is made of polypropylene (PP), with an outer sleeve of aluminium. PP is a common material for cosmetic packaging, compatible with aqueous and oil-based contents as well as standard surfactant systems. Suitability for contact with cosmetic products is supported by the technical documentation for the packaging.

How a disc top works

A disc top has a rotating disc on the upper part that acts as a rocker. Pressing one side tilts the disc and uncovers the dispensing opening; pressing the other side closes it again. It opens with one hand, which is practical in the shower or at the sink, and when closed the opening is covered, so the cap does not need to be unscrewed and set aside.

The amount of product dispensed is controlled by the force applied to the bottle, not by the closure itself. With thicker gels the contents come out more slowly and with better control; with thinner products more quickly. It is therefore important to match the viscosity of the formulation to this type of closure.

Suitable products

• Shower gels and shampoos – typical use; a surfactant gel has sufficient viscosity to prevent free-flowing while still being easy to dispense by squeezing.
• Body lotions and light emulsions – if the emulsion flows but is not watery, a disc top dispenses it comfortably without a pump.
• Liquid soaps and hand cleansing gels – one-handed opening is an advantage with frequent use.
• Conditioners and masks with a thinner consistency – thick masks that do not flow are difficult to dispense through a disc top; a wide-mouth jar or pot is more suitable.

Less suitable for very thin contents (tonics, hydrolats, aqueous solutions), which may leak from the open disc when the bottle is tipped. A spray or dropper is a better choice for those. It is also not intended for thick creams and butters that cannot be pushed through the small opening.

Useful information for filling and use

When assembling your own combination, we recommend verifying seal integrity and dispensing performance with the specific formulation, ideally by testing one bottle before filling an entire batch.

Before first use, we recommend washing the cap and optionally sanitising it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, then allowing it to dry completely, as water may be retained inside the disc. The cap can be reused. Before the next filling, check that no dried product residue has accumulated in the disc opening that could impede dispensing.
