Disc top cap, aluminium + PP, gold, white centre, 24/410

Disc top cap with 24/410 thread opens and closes with a single press of a finger – one hand, no unscrewing, even in the shower. The gold aluminium shell is complemented by a white PP plastic centre. Pressing one side of the disc opens a small dispensing hole; pressing the other side closes it again, so the bottle does not spill during use.

The cap is intended primarily for squeeze plastic bottles with the same neck type, used for filling shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps, conditioners or body lotions. The gold shell with white centre looks clean on the shelf and suits both clear and white plastic. How a disc top cap works

• Push-to-open – the disc sits on a hinge. Pressing the marked side flips it up and uncovers the dispensing hole; pressing the opposite side snaps it back.
• Dispensing by squeezing the bottle – the product is pushed out by pressing the bottle wall, so the cap works best with flexible plastic bottles. Dose size depends on product viscosity and squeeze force.
• Mixed materials – the outer shell is aluminium; the white PP plastic centre is what comes into contact with the contents. The aluminium provides rigidity and a metallic look; the PP ensures hinge flexibility and hole sealing.
• 24/410 thread – a common neck size for mid-size bottles. When choosing a bottle, check for the same thread type in the parameters.

Suitable for products such as

The disc top cap suits products with medium viscosity that can be squeezed out but do not pour freely once opened:

• shampoos and conditioners – classic shower use, one hand dispenses while the other is free,
• shower gels and liquid soaps – including travel sizes, where a disc top is more practical than a pump,
• body lotions and lighter balms – provided they are fluid enough to be squeezed from the bottle,
• gel facial cleansers and micellar gels – products with a thicker texture that do not require a precise dose,
• carrier oils and massage blends – if filled into a plastic bottle; check seal compatibility with oils beforehand.

For very thin water-based products (tonics, hydrolats, facial waters) a disc top is not suitable – liquid flows through the hole too quickly and the dose is difficult to control. For thick creams and butters squeezing is laborious; a jar or pot is more appropriate there.

Good to know

The bottle must be squeezable. The disc top has no built-in dispensing mechanism – the product is dosed by deforming the bottle wall. On a glass bottle it therefore acts only as a cap with an opening, from which the contents will flow only when tilted. With thin products this means an uncontrolled stream.

Preparation before first filling. Wash the cap before use, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Open and close the disc several times during cleaning so the disinfectant reaches the hinge as well.

Care of the aluminium shell. Do not clean the gold surface with abrasive cleaners or wire pads – they will scratch it. Strongly alkaline cleaning agents are not recommended for aluminium; warm water with a mild detergent is sufficient for routine washing.

Filling the bottle. Fill the bottle to its nominal volume, not to the brim. The total brim-full volume is always greater; the headspace below the neck is needed for the cap and for the air that helps push the contents out when the bottle is squeezed and allows it to return to shape when released.

Reuse. The cap can be reused after washing and disinfection, provided the disc hinge holds and the hole seals. As it is a combination of aluminium and plastic, do not sort it as purely metallic packaging when disposing of it.
