- Description
- Azeloglycine is a water-soluble active ingredient derived from azelaic acid and glycine, intended primarily for formulations for oily, problem-prone and acne-prone skin . In a formulation, it helps regulate sebum production, supports a more even skin tone and promotes hydration. The manufacturer describes it as an ingredient that does not irritate the skin or mucous membranes. It is easy to work with. It dissolves directly in the water phase , tolerates both acidic and alkaline environments and is suitable for rinse-off and leave-on products. It can be incorporated into a serum, tonic or cleansing gel without emulsification and without further processing. Suitable applications Sebum regulation – reduces excess skin oiliness, resulting in less shine throughout the day. It is most effective in tonics, lightweight gel creams and serums for oily and combination skin. More even skin tone – the manufacturer classifies it among brightening ingredients. In a cosmetic formulation, it helps reduce the visibility of pigmentation spots and uneven discolouration. Hydration and elasticity – according to the manufacturer's data, it acts as a humectant and supports skin elasticity. It is therefore also suitable for formulations for oily skin that lacks hydration. Good tolerability – the manufacturer states that it does not irritate the skin or mucous membranes, which is important for an active ingredient targeting acne-prone skin. Use in formulation It is supplied as a clear aqueous solution of yellow to brown colour, odourless, with an active ingredient content of 28 – 30 % . The recommenfull description on the product page →
