Essential oil, lavandin super

Lavandin super is a hybrid plant created by crossing narrow-leaf lavender and broad-leaf lavender varieties. Lavandin is cultivated in France at higher altitudes than classic lavender. Lavandin essential oil is obtained from lavandin leaves by steam distillation. It has a similar scent to narrow-leaf lavender, with a slight camphor undertone but a more intense aroma, and is therefore used primarily in aromatherapy and in refreshing and cleansing products. Due to its high camphor content, it can also help with problems such as snoring or ringing in the ears (tinnitus). Lavandin, as a blend of two types of lavender, has a much higher yield – from the same amount of plant material it is possible to produce up to 10 times more essential oil than from common lavender, which results in its favourable price. However, compared with narrow-leaf lavender, its fragrance is more herbal and less floral. All supplied raw materials are of cosmetic grade , not suitable for internal use.
