- Description
- Essential oil palmarosa brings a floral scent with a fresh grassy undertone to cosmetics and is also used in the care of oily and combination skin . It is obtained by steam distillation of Cymbopogon martini grass grown in India. In a formulation it has a dual role: it perfumes the product and, according to the manufacturer's data, supports balanced skin. The manufacturer describes the scent as floral and herbal, so the oil works as a floral component in essential oil blends and on its own. The raw material is declared as vegan and not tested on animals. What the oil brings to the formulation Floral-grassy scent – floral character with an herbal undertone, suitable for floral and green fragrance blends. Oily skin care – according to the manufacturer's data, it helps balance sebum production and is therefore recommended for products for oily skin and skin prone to imperfections. Hydration and soothing – the manufacturer also states moisturising effects and soothing of dry and sensitive skin, including reduction of redness. The result always depends on the entire formulation, not on the oil alone. Refreshing character – the manufacturer describes a cooling sensation on the skin and a cleansing effect on skin and hair, which can be used in tonics and cleansing products. Hair care – in shampoos and conditioners it serves mainly as a fragrance that remains fresh and floral in the hair after washing. Use in formulation As an essential oil it dissolves in vegetable oils, butters and alcohol, but not in water. In anhydrous products it is blended directly into the oil phase .
