Plastic cap for bottle 28/410, black

The black 28/410 plastic cap is a simple screw closure made of HDPE, designed to seal bottles and flasks with a 28/410 neck finish. It is suitable wherever you need to close the contents securely without a dispensing element – for shampoos, shower gels, conditioners, body lotions, liquid soaps, massage oils or tonics, as well as household cleaning products. The black colour is neutral and pairs well with white, brown and clear bottles, making it usable across an entire product range.

The closure is suitable for direct food contact under normal conditions of use, making it appropriate for home-made oils, syrups, vinegars or herbal extracts. What the cap is suitable for

• Closure without dispensing – the cap simply seals the contents; it has no pump, dropper or flip-top opening. Suitable for products that are poured or scooped, and for bulk or transport packaging.
• Replacement for a dispenser – on a bottle sold with a pump or sprayer, it serves as a closure for transport or storage until you are ready to attach the dispensing element.
• Wide range of contents – HDPE tolerates water-based, surfactant-based and oil-based formulations well, covering most standard body and hair care products.

Bottle selection and sealing

The cap fits necks with a 28/410 thread. Bottles with the same neck finish and ready-made bottle + closure combinations are available in the Handymade range; the thread type is listed in the parameters for each packaging item. With your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal with the specific bottle and specific formulation – particularly for thin, foaming or oily contents and for products intended for transport.

Good to know

Preparation before first use. Wash the cap before filling, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol if needed, and allow it to dry completely. Residual moisture under the closure is an unnecessary risk for unpreserved products.

Reuse. HDPE can be washed and reused. After each cycle, inspect the thread – if the cap tightens with difficulty or feels loose, the seal may no longer be reliable.

Material sensitivity. HDPE is a chemically resistant plastic, but prolonged contact with higher concentrations of essential oils, fragrance compositions or organic solvents may affect the material. With such contents, it is advisable to carry out a stability test with the finished product.

Recycling. The cap is made from a single type of plastic (HDPE), so once emptied and rinsed it belongs in sorted plastic waste.
