A black plastic cap with a pour insert is a bottle closure that enables controlled pouring of liquid contents. The insert in the neck narrows the opening so the contents flow in a thin stream rather than all at once, and the cap seals the bottle between uses. It suits thinner formulations dispensed by pouring rather than dropping or spraying. The black cap pairs visually with amber, matte, and clear bottles.

How the pour insert works

• Narrower opening – the insert fits into the bottle neck and reduces the diameter through which the contents flow. Instead of a wide stream from the full neck, a thin, more manageable flow is produced.
• Less spillage – when tilting the bottle, the contents do not pour out all at once, making it easier to dispense into a palm, a measuring cup, or a smaller container.
• Closure – the cap screws onto the neck over the insert and seals the bottle. The insert stays in the neck; once the cap is unscrewed, the bottle is immediately ready to pour.

Suitable for contents such as

• vegetable, massage and hair oils or oil blends,
• thinner liquid soaps, shampoos and shower gels that flow under their own weight,
• tonics, facial waters and hydrolats in larger bottles from which the contents are decanted,
• liquid cleansers and extracts dispensed by pouring.

Thicker creams, lotions and gels are difficult to pour through a narrow opening. For these, a disc top or pump closure is more suitable.

Good to know

The cap fits bottles with the same neck type as stated in the product parameters. Bottles with this neck and ready-made packaging and closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the pour flow and container behaviour with the specific formulation.

For contents with a high proportion of essential oils or alcohol, we recommend checking in advance whether the insert material retains its shape and whether any leakage occurs. When changing the contents, remove the insert and clean it thoroughly — residues of oil can easily remain in the narrow opening.

Once emptied and rinsed, both the cap and the insert belong in sorted plastics recycling.
