Product description
Plastic pump dispenser with an 18/415 thread turns any bottle with a matching neck into a packaging from which serum or oil is dispensed in small, even doses without opening. The white body with a glossy gold element looks clean and pairs well with clear, white, and dark glass bottles. With a small dose per pump, it is designed primarily for facial serums, fluids, light emulsions, and oil blends where only a few drops are used at a time.
The dispenser solves two practical problems at once: hygiene and precision. The contents do not come into contact with fingers or air to the same degree as with an open jar, and each pump delivers approximately the same amount. This is especially appreciated with active serums, where it matters that no more product is used than necessary.
Why choose a dispenser over a dropper
- Consistent dose – each pump delivers approximately the same volume, making product use predictable and economical.
- Hygienic dispensing – the contents do not touch hands, and no used dropper is returned to the bottle, reducing the risk of contamination in leave-on products.
- Air protection – the bottle remains sealed during use, so the contents are less exposed to oxygen and moisture than with a cap that is repeatedly unscrewed.
- One-handed dispensing – no need to count drops; one or two pumps are all that is needed.
- Material combination – plastic parts made from polypropylene (PP) withstand common cosmetic bases, while the aluminium gold element adds both strength and appearance to the closure.
What products is it suitable for
The small dose per pump makes this dispenser a suitable closure for products used in small amounts and frequently:
- facial serums and concentrates – water-based and oil-based, where a single application is a matter of a few drops,
- fluids and light emulsions – provided they are fluid enough to be drawn up through the dip tube,
- facial and hair oils – pure plant oils as well as blends with essential oils,
- eye serums and décolleté products – where a precise, small dose is appreciated,
- liquid foundation bases and primers – when fluid in consistency.
Viscosity is the deciding factor. The dispenser works reliably with liquid to moderately thick products; for thicker emulsions, we recommend testing one unit before filling an entire batch.
The dispenser is not intended for thick creams, butters, and balms, or for products with solid particles (scrubs, granules). Thick material cannot be drawn through the dip tube or is dispensed unevenly, particles clog the mechanism, and a clogged dispenser cannot be reliably cleaned.
How to use the dispenser
The dispenser is sold separately, without a bottle. It fits bottles with an 18/415 neck, available in the Handymade range together with ready-made bottle and closure combinations. When assembling your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, mechanism behaviour, and material compatibility with your specific formulation.
The dip tube length is chosen to reach the bottom of standard bottles with this neck. If it is too long for your bottle, it can be trimmed with a sharp knife or scissors. Cut at an angle so the end of the tube does not seal against the bottom and the dispenser can draw up the last remaining product.
Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The total brim capacity is larger precisely to leave space above the liquid level for the dip tube and mechanism; otherwise, the contents will be pushed out through the thread when screwing on.
After screwing on, the dispenser needs to be primed: the first pumps only push air out of the dip tube, and product will not appear until after several pumps. This is normal behaviour for all dispensers of this type, not a product defect.
Before first use, we recommend rinsing the dispenser with clean water or disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or ethanol and allowing it to dry completely. Pump the disinfectant solution through the mechanism with several pumps to reach the internal parts as well.
The dispenser is suitable for use with cosmetic products and meets the relevant regulatory requirements. The declaration of suitability is stated in the product parameters.
Good to know
- Essential oils and solvents may affect plastic parts over time when present in high proportions. For products with a higher content of essential oils, alcohol, or esters, it is advisable to verify compatibility over time.
- The glossy gold element has a decorative surface finish. Do not clean it with abrasive products or rough sponges to avoid scratching the finish.
- Reuse is possible after thorough rinsing and disinfection. However, the inside of the mechanism cannot be cleaned completely, so when switching to a different product we recommend a new dispenser.
- Labelling applies to the bottle, not the dispenser. If you are packaging the product in a box, account for the height of the dispenser when selecting the bottle.
- Recycling – the dispenser combines plastic and aluminium, so it cannot be sorted as simple plastic waste without disassembly.
