Product description
A plastic dispenser pump, black with a smoke-coloured overcap, 24/410, is a pump closure for precise dispensing of liquid and lightly creamy products directly from the bottle. A single press delivers a small, repeatable dose. It is therefore best suited where the product is applied in small amounts: facial serums, fluids, oils, and lightweight creams.
The smoke-coloured overcap protects the nozzle from dust and the pump from accidental actuation in a bag or during transport. The contents never come into contact with fingers during use, which is a practical advantage over a jar.
Which products is the dispenser suited for
The small dose per press makes this dispenser the right choice for more concentrated products in smaller bottles, where only a little goes a long way.
- Facial serums and fluids – water-based, gel, or light emulsion types that benefit from economical and even dispensing.
- Facial and hair oils – the pump delivers oil without dripping down the bottle neck, which commonly happens when pouring.
- Lightweight creams and lotions – fluid emulsions in small packaging, such as eye creams, day fluids, or light body lotions.
The dispenser is not suitable for thick creams, butters, or balms, as the pump cannot draw them up through the dip tube. It is also unsuitable for products with solid particles (scrubs, clay masks) that would clog the mechanism.
Dose size and pump operation
One press delivers approximately 0.2 ml of product. This is a reference value: the dose is stable with thinner liquids, while with denser emulsions it may be slightly smaller and the pump returns more slowly. A 30 ml bottle therefore yields roughly 150 presses, which helps when estimating the recommended dosage on the label ("2–3 pumps").
Viscosity suitability can be checked simply. If the product flows slowly on its own when the container is tilted, the pump will generally draw it up. If it holds its shape, it belongs in a jar.
Good to know
24/410 neck finish. The dispenser fits bottles with the same neck type. Suitable bottles and ready-made packaging combinations are available in the Handymade range.
Dip tube length. The dip tube should reach just above the bottom of the bottle. If it is too long for the chosen bottle, trim it with clean scissors, preferably at an angle. This prevents the end from suctioning against the bottom so the product can be drawn down almost completely.
Filling the bottle. Fill the bottle to its nominal volume, not to the brim. The nominal volume is the quantity for which the container is intended under normal filling conditions. The total volume is the physical capacity right to the top. The difference serves as a reserve for the pump mechanism and dip tube, which displace some content when screwed in, and for product expansion with temperature changes.
Preparation before filling. We recommend priming a new dispenser by pumping warm water through it and then sanitising it by pumping isopropyl alcohol or 70% ethanol through. It must then be allowed to dry thoroughly, including the inside of the dip tube.
The dispenser does not replace preservation. Each press introduces air into the bottle, so water-containing products require an effective preservative system just as they would in any other packaging.
