Plastic spatula for dropper vials

The plastic dropper wiper is a small insert for the neck of a dropper bottle that, when the dropper is pulled out, wipes excess product from the outside of the pipette tube. The product is returned to the bottle and does not remain on the neck, threads, or hands.

You will appreciate it most with facial serums, oils, and thicker liquid formulations that cling to the tube in a heavier layer and drip down the packaging during normal use.

What the wiper delivers in practice

• Cleaner neck and threads – product does not collect on the bottle rim when the dropper is withdrawn, where it would dry out, become sticky, and impair cap closure.
• Less product waste – excess from the tube stays in the bottle, not on the cap or label. This is particularly valuable with serums containing active ingredients.
• Cleaner dispensing – nothing drips from the outside of the tube; only the product drawn up inside is dispensed.
• Neater finished product – the bottle stays clean even with extended use, which matters especially for products intended for retail or as a gift.

How to use the wiper

The wiper is pressed into the neck of the filled bottle evenly around the entire circumference until it seats on the rim. The dropper tube is then inserted through the opening and the cap is tightened in the usual way. Each time the dropper is withdrawn, the tube passes through the wiper opening, which removes the product from it.

The wiper is designed for dropper bottles and droppers with an 18/410 neck finish. Bottles, droppers, and ready-made combinations with the same neck type are available in the Handymade range. When assembling your own combination, we recommend checking in advance that the dropper tube passes through the opening smoothly and that the cap seals properly after the wiper is inserted.

Good to know

The wiper is made from transparent polypropylene (PP), so it does not stand out in the bottle neck and does not alter the appearance of the finished product. The material is suitable for contact with cosmetic products; a declaration of conformity is available with the product.

Before first use, wash the wiper, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow it to dry completely. Moisture introduced into the neck can compromise the microbiological stability of the contents, particularly in anhydrous oil-based formulations without preservatives.

The wiper works best with oils and more viscous serums. With very thin aqueous contents such as tonics or hydrolats, the benefit is smaller because only a thin film remains on the tube. With very thick gels, it is worth checking that the wiper does not scrape off too much product and that product does not build up on its upper surface.

The wiper is made from a single type of plastic and should therefore be placed in plastic recycling when it reaches the end of its life.
