Product description
White-gold dropper 103 mm is a closure for drop-by-drop dispensing, designed for bottles with an 18/410 neck. The long glass tube reaches deep into the bottle, making it suitable for taller containers from which the product should be drawn all the way to the bottom. It is ideal for facial serums, oil blends and tonics, i.e. products dispensed in small amounts.
The combination of white and gold suits both clear and coloured bottles. The dropper is suitable for use with cosmetic products.
How a dropper works
A dropper consists of four parts, each with its own role:
- Silicone bulb – squeezing and releasing draws the product into the tube; gentle pressure releases it drop by drop.
- Glass tube – transparent, so you can see how much product has been drawn up.
- PP thread – secures tightening onto the bottle neck.
- Aluminium collar – forms the visible part of the closure.
Which products is it suitable for
Drop-by-drop dispensing makes sense for thin to medium-viscosity liquids. Aqueous and oil serums, facial and hair oils, tonics and hydrolats draw up well. Thick gels, emulsions and creams cannot be reliably drawn through the tube — a pump is better suited for those.
For oil serums with higher viscosity, wait a few seconds after releasing the bulb for the tube to fill. Drawing the dropper out quickly will result in less product being drawn up.
Choosing a bottle and filling
Two parameters matter: the neck type and the bottle height. The neck must be 18/410, otherwise the closure will not seal. The tube should end just above the bottom. If it is too long, the closure cannot be tightened and the glass may crack. If it is too short, product will remain in the bottle.
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the rim. Nominal volume is the quantity the container is designed for under normal filling conditions; total volume is the physical capacity up to the rim. The difference is a safety margin: inserting the tube displaces some content, and the liquid also needs room to expand with temperature changes.
Bottles with the same neck type and ready-made dropper-bottle combinations are available in the Handymade range. For custom combinations, we recommend verifying the seal, tube length and dispensing behaviour with the specific formulation.
Good to know
Before first filling, the dropper is washed, disinfected and left to dry completely. The tube must also be rinsed from the inside. Water residue in the bulb can spoil an anhydrous product.
Silicone may swell or soften with prolonged contact with concentrated essential oils and certain solvents. For products with a high proportion of essential oils, we recommend performing a compatibility test.
The glass tube is fragile and may chip if knocked against the bottom or the neck. Filled bottles are best stored upright, as lying on their side allows the contents to enter the bulb. The dropper consists of multiple materials; before recycling, it is advisable to separate the glass tube from the other parts.
