Product description

The brown paper bag with a flat handle is a retail packaging item for wrapping finished products to hand to customers – a soap, a jar of cream, a bottle of serum, or a small gift set. It is suitable for a shop counter, markets, and events where you hand the purchase directly to the customer, as well as for gift wrapping your own cosmetics. The brown paper has a natural feel and pairs well with products that emphasise natural ingredients or handcrafted production.

What the bag is suitable for

  • Point-of-sale packaging – wrapping one or a few smaller products when selling at a workshop, shop, or market.
  • Gift wrapping – the bag fits a small set, for example a soap with a hydrolat or a jar with a balm. Just add tissue paper, a ribbon, or a hang tag.
  • Samples and click-and-collect orders – uniform packaging that can be quickly labelled with a stamp or a logo sticker.
  • Consistent brand appearance – brown paper is a neutral base on which your own label or stamp stands out without competing with the colours of the products.

Why paper with a flat handle

The bag is made in Slovakia from a single material – paper – including the handles. The flat paper handle folds flat against the body of the bag during storage, so the bags can be stacked flat and take up minimal space. When handing the bag to a customer, the handle simply unfolds. Brown paper works well with standard self-adhesive labels and stamps, making it a practical packaging option for smaller brands that customise their packaging themselves.

If you want to stamp the bag, test it on a single piece first. Brown paper partially absorbs ink, so fast-drying stamp inks tend to work best. Allow the print to dry before placing products inside.

Useful information

Paper and moisture. Plain paper without a plastic coating is not resistant to water or oils. A wet bag softens and loses its strength; a drop of oil leaves a permanent dark stain. Only place products in tightly sealed containers in the bag, and when packing oils or balms, check that the cap or neck of the bottle is not greasy.

Contents weight. The flat paper handle is designed for lighter contents – soaps, jars, smaller bottles. If you plan to pack several glass containers at once, we recommend testing the load capacity in advance with the specific combination of products.

Reuse. If kept dry and undamaged, the bag can be reused by the customer. Store unfilled bags flat to prevent warping.

Recycling. After use, a bag made of clean paper belongs in paper recycling. Simply remove any decorations made from other materials, such as a fabric ribbon.

The paper bag is not suitable for transporting products that may leak or sweat. Loosely sealed oil or liquid soap will soak through the paper and the bag may tear.

Frequently asked questions

Can the brown paper bag with a flat handle be recycled?
Yes, the bag is made entirely from paper including the handles, so it belongs in paper recycling. The condition is that it must not be contaminated with oil or any other greasy content. Greasy paper can no longer be recycled and belongs in general waste. Decorations made from other materials, such as a ribbon or a plastic hang tag, should be removed before disposal.
Can the paper bag carry glass jars and bottles?
The bag is intended for lighter contents, for example a soap, a jar of cream, or a small bottle of serum. The flat paper handle is not designed for heavy loads. When packing several glass containers at once, we therefore recommend testing the load capacity in advance with the specific products and splitting the purchase between two bags if needed.
Is the paper bag suitable for oil or liquid products?
Yes, but only if they are in their own tightly sealed container. Paper has no protective coating and oil, hydrolat, or liquid soap will soak through and weaken it. Before packing, check that the cap is tightened and the neck of the bottle is clean. For products that may sweat, placing them in a separate pouch will help.
Can the paper bag be stamped or labelled with a sticker?
Yes, brown paper accepts stamps and self-adhesive labels well. Because paper partially absorbs ink, the impression may be softer than on smooth card and needs a moment to dry. We recommend doing a test on a single piece and stamping the bags before filling them.
Is the brown paper bag intended as packaging for cosmetics?
Yes, it is a retail packaging item designed for wrapping finished cosmetic products at the point of sale or handover to the customer. The cosmetics must always be in their own container – a jar, a bottle, or film-wrapped in the case of soap. The bag serves for carrying, presentation, and gift wrapping, not for direct contact with the product.
