- Description
- Vanilla CO₂-to extract with a 26 % vanillin content is a concentrated aromatic extract obtained from vanilla pods, most commonly from the species Vanilla planifolia , by means of supercritical CO₂ extraction . In this technology, carbon dioxide in its supercritical state is used as the extraction medium, which makes it possible to gently extract aromatic, resinous and waxy components without the use of common organic solvents. The designation CO₂-to means total extract , i.e. complete extract. In contrast to CO₂-se select extracts, it contains a broader spectrum of naturally occurring substances, including vanillin, volatile aromatic compounds, resins, waxes and other lipophilic components . Thanks to an approximately 26 % vanillin content, the extract has an intense, warm, sweet and typically vanilla aromatic profile. In cosmetic formulations it is used mainly as a natural aromatic component in anhydrous, oil-based, balm and perfumery compositions. It gives products a subtle gourmand character, softens sharper fragrance notes and combines very well with citrus, floral, spicy, woody and resinous scents. Key benefits High vanillin content – approximately 26 %, suitable for an intense vanilla aromatic profile. Vanilla CO₂-HA extract BIO is a mild hydroalcoholic extract from the fermented pods of Vanilla planifolia, obtained by combining supercritical carbon dioxide extraction with ethanol from organic farming. Thanks to this gentle process it retains the authentic, rich and complex scent of pure natural vanilla with its characteristic sweet, warm and balsamic tone. The extract contains approximately 2 % natural vanillin and more than 250 aromatic compounds, which together create a harmonious and elegant fragrance. It is standardised to a content of 52–55 % organic ethanol and 44–51 % water, which makes it a form well suited to use in perfumery, cosmetics and lip products.
Type of extraction: Combined supercritical CO₂ and hydroalcoholic extraction
Designation: CO₂-HA extract – hydroalcoholic extract containing 2 % vanillin
