Product description

The 0.25 kg cross-bottom paper bag is a simple paper packaging for dry and bulk products. It is suitable for packaging bath salts, loose masks, powdered clays, dried flowers and herbal bath blends, bar soaps, or fizzing bath bombs. Thanks to the cross bottom, the bag stands upright once filled, making it easier to fill, close, and display on a shelf or in gift packaging.

The kraft paper gives the packaging a natural appearance that complements natural cosmetics and handcrafted products. The packaging is suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

What the bag is suitable for

  • Bath salts and loose blends – dry products dispensed by the handful or spoonful. The bag holds its shape and can be resealed by folding.
  • Bar soaps and bath bombs – paper is breathable, so products do not sweat inside and curing soap can continue to dry.
  • Gift and seasonal packaging – kraft paper can be stamped, labelled, or tied with twine without an additional box.
  • Samples and smaller quantities – the 0.25 kg fill corresponds to a standard retail pack size for salt or a loose blend.

Useful filling notes

The 0.25 kg figure is a guideline fill for a bulk product of average density, such as coarse bath salt. Lighter materials like dried flowers or fluffy powders will fill the bag volumetrically before reaching this weight. Heavier, fine powders will leave more empty space. Fill the bag so that enough headspace remains for folding and closing the top edge.

Paper without a barrier layer is not intended for liquid, moist, or oily contents. Soaps with a high proportion of free oils, or products with elevated moisture content, may soak through the paper. For such products, insert an inner liner bag or choose a different packaging type.

The bag is closed by folding the top edge and securing it with a label, sticker, or clip. When using your own combination, we recommend checking that the chosen closure holds with the weight and shape of the specific contents.

Allow bath salts and loose blends containing fragrance oils to air out for a few hours before packaging so the oil absorbs into the salt. A freshly scented product can leave greasy marks on the paper.

Paper absorbs moisture and odours from the surroundings easily, so do not store empty bags next to fragrant raw materials. Used bags made of plain paper belong in paper recycling.

Frequently asked questions

Is a cross-bottom paper bag suitable for bath salt?
Yes, bath salts and loose salt blends are among the most common uses for this bag. The cross-bottom bag stands upright once filled, making it easy to fill and display. Allow salt blended with fragrance oil to air out before packaging so the oil absorbs into the salt and does not penetrate the paper.
Can a bar soap be packaged in a paper bag?
Yes, fully dried bar soap is suitable for a paper bag. Paper is breathable, so the soap does not sweat inside and can continue to cure. Soaps that are still sweating or have a high proportion of free oils are not suitable, as they may soak through the paper. Allow freshly cut soap to cure sufficiently before packaging.
How much can actually fit in a 0.25 kg bag?
The 0.25 kg figure is a guideline fill for a bulk product of average density, such as coarse salt. Light materials like dried flowers or fluffy powders will fill the bag volumetrically before reaching this weight. For a new product, we recommend filling a test bag and weighing it.
How is the paper bag closed?
The bag is closed by folding the top edge and securing it with a label, sticker, or clip. It has no built-in closure or zip, so it is best suited to products the customer will use up quickly or transfer to their own container. The folded edge also provides space for labelling.
Is the paper bag suitable for moist or oily products?
No, paper without a barrier layer is not intended for liquid, moist, or oily contents. Moisture will soften the paper and oil will soak through, leaving marks. For such products, insert an inner liner bag, or choose a glass or plastic container.
Can the kraft paper bag be printed on or labelled?
Yes, kraft paper takes stamps, self-adhesive labels, and handwritten tags well. The natural brown tone complements natural cosmetics and does not require an additional gift box. When stamping, allow the ink to dry completely to prevent it from transferring to adjacent bags.
