Product description

The blue plastic bottle with a clear pump dispenser is a ready-to-use packaging and closure combination for liquid soaps, shampoos and body lotions. The bottle with a nominal volume of 200 ml and the dispenser share the same neck type, so the set just needs to be filled and screwed together. The product is dispensed one-handed, without opening or tilting the bottle.

The bottle is made of PET, a lightweight plastic resistant to breakage. It is therefore suitable for the bathroom, shower and travel, where glass would be a hazard. The polypropylene pump dispenser delivers approximately the same amount with each press, making economical use of the finished product easier.

Which products is the set suitable for

The dispenser works best with liquid to medium-viscosity products that flow freely and contain no solid particles.

  • Liquid soaps and shower gels – one press delivers a dose that matches typical consumption when washing hands or body.
  • Shampoos and conditioners – the bottle can be operated in the shower with a wet hand and withstands drops far better than glass.
  • Body lotions and light emulsions – the content is dispensed without fingers touching the product, which helps keep it clean.
  • Massage and body oils – the dispenser allows a small amount to be taken without spilling.

Thick creams, butters and scrubs with granules are not suitable for this packaging. A thick content cannot be drawn up by the dispenser and solid particles may clog it.

How the dispenser works

One full press delivers approximately 1.4 ml of product. The actual amount depends on the viscosity of the content — with thinner liquids the dose is more precise than with thicker gels. Before first use, the dispenser needs to be pressed several times without product until the tube and chamber are primed.

The dispenser tube is supplied with extra length. If after fitting it does not rest freely at the bottom and bends, trim it with clean scissors so that it ends just above the base. An angled cut will help empty the contents almost completely.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference serves as a reserve for the dispenser body with its tube and for the expansion of the product when the temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

What is worth knowing before filling

Before first filling, wash the bottle, rinse it and disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. Pump a small amount of disinfectant through the dispenser and allow both parts to dry completely.

PET does not tolerate high temperatures. Do not boil the bottle, do not sterilise it with hot water and do not fill it with a hot product, as it may deform. Allow the content to cool to room temperature before filling.

  • Material sensitivity – finished products with standard concentrations of fragrance ingredients will not damage the plastic. Undiluted essential oils, solvents and aggressive chemicals may affect it.
  • Contact with cosmetics and food – the set is suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The bottle alone holds food-contact certification; the dispenser does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics only.
  • Labelling – apply the label to a dry and degreased surface, ideally before filling. The dimensions needed for label design are listed in the parameters.
  • Other closures – closures with the same neck type and further ready-to-use combinations are available in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosing and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.
  • Recycling – both PET and PP are recyclable plastics. Empty the packaging before sorting it for recycling.

Frequently asked questions

Which products is the 200 ml plastic bottle with dispenser suitable for?
The 200 ml plastic bottle with dispenser is suitable for liquid and medium-viscosity cosmetic products such as liquid soaps, shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, body lotions and oils. The dispenser requires content that flows freely. Thick creams and butters cannot be drawn up by the dispenser, and scrubs with solid particles may clog it, so choose a jar or tube for those.
Is the plastic bottle with dispenser suitable for food as well?
The bottle and dispenser set as a whole is not intended for food, but for cosmetic products. The bottle alone holds food-contact certification; the dispenser does not. If you are looking for packaging for syrups, oils or other food products, use the bottle on its own and pair it with a closure that has food-contact suitability stated in its parameters.
Why is the bottle with dispenser not filled right to the brim?
The bottle with dispenser is filled only to the nominal volume because the dispenser body and tube displace some of the content once screwed on. Filling to the brim would cause the product to overflow through the neck and contaminate the thread. The free space also compensates for the expansion of the content when the temperature changes, for example in a warm bathroom or during transport.
Can the plastic bottle with dispenser be reused?
Yes, the plastic bottle with dispenser can be reused if it is cleaned thoroughly before refilling. Wash the bottle with lukewarm water and dish soap and rinse it. Pump clean lukewarm water through the dispenser first, then ethanol or isopropyl alcohol. Allow both parts to dry completely. Do not use hot water, as PET deforms under heat.
Is the plastic bottle with dispenser suitable for oil-based and alcohol-based products?
The plastic bottle with dispenser is suitable for water-based and oil-based cosmetic products; for alcohol-based ones we recommend testing first. This applies to solutions with a higher alcohol content and products with a high concentration of essential oils. Fill a small amount of the specific formulation and observe whether the plastic becomes cloudy or soft and whether the dispenser seals and operates smoothly.
