Plastic bottle for fabric softener, white, black cap, 1.5 l

A plastic bottle with a capacity of 1.5 l and a screw cap is a set designed for fabric softeners, laundry gels and other liquid products that are made in larger batches and poured directly from the bottle. The white bottle is made of HDPE, the black cap of polypropylene. The cap screws onto the neck, allowing the bottle to be opened and closed repeatedly throughout its use.

Both the bottle and cap are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set can therefore also serve as a stock or refill container for liquid soap, shower gel or shampoo.

What the set is suitable for

• Fabric softeners and laundry gels – liquid laundry products prepared in larger batches and used gradually.
• Dishwashing and household cleaning products – liquid surfactant blends; when formulating your own product, it is advisable to test its behaviour in the packaging on a single unit first.
• Cosmetic refill containers – liquid soaps, shower gels and shampoos that are poured from the large bottle into smaller dispensers.
• Stock solutions in production – pre-prepared surfactant bases or blends that are processed gradually.

The contents are poured from the bottle. For products requiring precise dosing, it is therefore advisable to state the dose on the label in common household measurements.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the quantity for which the bottle is designed under standard filling conditions. Total volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the rim of the neck and is slightly larger. The difference between them forms a headspace that allows the contents to expand with temperature changes.

What to know before filling

Container preparation. Before the first fill, both the bottle and cap are washed, rinsed, and disinfected with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. They are then left to dry completely. Residual water inside the container places unnecessary strain on the product's preservation.

Filling temperature. HDPE is not designed for hot filling. Blends prepared at elevated temperatures should only be filled once they have cooled to room or lukewarm temperature; otherwise the bottle wall may deform.

Material sensitivity. The bottle is intended for aqueous and surfactant-based products such as fabric softeners, laundry gels and liquid soaps.

Labelling. Weaker adhesives do not adhere well to the smooth surface of polyethylene. A label with an adhesive designed for plastics, applied to a dry and degreased surface, is recommended. Bottle dimensions are listed in the specifications. Before printing a larger run, it is advisable to test the label on a single unit.

Leak-tightness and transport. When using your own formulation, we recommend checking the leak-tightness of the filled bottle on its side, especially if the product is to be shipped by post. Intended use. The set is intended for drugstore and cosmetic applications. It is not intended for food or beverages.
