Aluminium jar with lid, 47 mm, 30 ml is a lightweight metal container for solid and semi-solid cosmetic products: balms, salves, solid perfumes, cream deodorants, lip waxes and cream samples. Aluminium is shatterproof and opaque to light, protecting light-sensitive contents. The screw-on lid is included and features an inserted EPE sealing liner that improves the seal when closed.

Nominal and total volume

The jar is labelled with a nominal volume of 30 ml. The nominal volume is the amount the container is designed to hold under normal filling conditions. The total capacity to the brim is greater, corresponding to the physical space up to the neck. The difference between the two provides a margin for the lid with its seal and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The jar should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Otherwise, when the lid is closed, the contents will be pushed into the thread and the lid will no longer seal properly.

How to work with the jar

Before first filling, we recommend washing the jar and lid, sanitising with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allowing them to dry completely. Anhydrous products based on waxes and butters are usually poured into the jar while warm. Metal conducts heat well, so the contents set evenly. When pouring hot material, place the jar on a flat, heat-resistant surface and avoid touching the walls with bare hands.

For aqueous, emulsion or acidic formulations, we recommend testing the container's behaviour with the specific formula before serial production, including the appearance of the inner surface after several weeks and the seal integrity during transport. Aluminium is sensitive to prolonged contact with water, salts and substances with a low or high pH, which is why this jar is the safest choice for anhydrous products.

• Labelling – the smooth silver surface accepts self-adhesive labels very well and is visually neutral, making it suitable for most brands regardless of label colour. Labels can be placed on the lid or on the base; label dimensions are listed in the specifications.
• Reuse – the jar can be emptied, washed, sanitised and refilled. After washing, check that the sealing liner in the lid is still in place.
• Durability – the container will not shatter when dropped, though it may dent slightly. When shipping larger quantities by post, it is advisable to keep the jars separated from one another.
• Essential oils and solvents – aluminium itself generally withstands them. For products with a high proportion of essential oils or alcohol, monitor the condition of the sealing liner in the lid rather than the metal itself.
• Recycling – aluminium is fully recyclable. Before disposal, simply empty the jar and separate the lid.
