Product description

This amber plastic bottle with a volume of 300 ml and a 24/410 neck finish is designed for filling larger volumes of liquid cosmetics that need protection from light. The amber colour of the PET reduces the passage of daylight, so the bottle suits vegetable and massage oils, shampoos, shower gels, body lotions and toners with sensitive ingredients. The pack contains 170 pcs, which also suits smaller production or a workshop that fills regularly in larger quantities.

The bottle is lightweight and does not break when dropped, which makes filling, transport and everyday use in the bathroom easier. It is made in the European Union in both cosmetic grade and technical grade.

What it is suitable for

  • Body oils and oil-based serums – amber PET limits the effect of light on oils, and the 300 ml volume corresponds to a common retail size for body and massage oils.
  • Shampoos, conditioners and shower gels – for rinse-off products, you will appreciate the low weight of the packaging and its resistance to drops in the shower.
  • Body lotions and light emulsions – thinner emulsions dispense well from the bottle. For thicker creams, we recommend checking that the contents flow smoothly enough through the neck.
  • Toners, hydrosols and water-based products – the colour of the packaging helps slow the effect of light on fragrance and active ingredients in the water phase.
  • Technical and cleaning products – the packaging is also available in technical grade, so it also suits household cleaning products, provided they are not aggressive chemicals.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume of 300 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The total volume to the brim is larger. The difference between the two values provides a reserve for the closure, pump or sprayer and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill up to the nominal volume, never up to the neck.

For products with a pump or sprayer, bear in mind that part of the reserve is taken up by the dip tube and the closure attachment. Test-filling one bottle with the specific closure will show how much of the contents fits in without overflowing.

Closure

The bottle has a 24/410 neck finish. You will find closures with the same neck type, as well as ready-made bottle and closure combinations, in the Handymade range. If you are choosing your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation, especially for oils and products with a higher content of essential oils.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle with warm water and a cleaning product, rinse it, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely with the neck facing down. Residual water in the packaging could shorten the shelf life of unpreserved or anhydrous products. The same procedure applies to reuse, when you should also check that the thread and neck are not damaged.

PET is not intended for hot filling. Let emulsions, solutions and oils cool to room temperature before filling, as the plastic may deform at higher temperatures.

Do not expose the packaging to aggressive chemicals. For contents with a high concentration of essential oils, solvents or alcohol, we recommend testing compatibility in advance on one bottle, for example with a test lasting several weeks at normal temperature.

The bottle is suitable for contact with cosmetics. A declaration of conformity with packaging requirements is available with the product. The packaging is made of PET and, once emptied and rinsed, belongs in separate plastic waste collection.

Frequently asked questions

Does the amber PET bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, the amber colour of the plastic reduces the passage of light, which accelerates the oxidation of oils and the breakdown of sensitive ingredients. The bottle is therefore suitable for vegetable oils, serums with an oil phase and products containing essential oils. However, it does not provide complete protection, and products that are highly sensitive to light should also be stored out of direct sunlight.
How much fits in a 300 ml bottle?
The bottle is designed for filling 300 ml, which is its nominal volume. The physical volume to the brim is larger, and you will find the exact value in the product parameters. Leave the reserve between the two values free for the closure, the pump dip tube and the expansion of the contents, otherwise the contents may overflow when the bottle is closed or warmed.
Can hot contents be filled into a PET bottle?
No, PET deforms at higher temperatures, so the contents should only be filled once they have cooled to room temperature. This applies especially to emulsions and solutions that are heated during production. Let the finished product cool in the vessel in which you made it, and only then transfer it into the bottle.
Is the 24/410 plastic bottle suitable for oils and water-based products?
Yes, it suits oils, water-based toners, hydrosols and rinse-off cosmetics such as shampoos and shower gels. For water-based products, the formulation needs standard preservation, as the packaging does not replace it. For contents with a high proportion of essential oils, solvents or alcohol, we recommend testing compatibility with PET in advance on one bottle.
Which closure fits a bottle with a 24/410 neck finish?
All closures designed for a 24/410 neck fit the bottle, and you will find them in the Handymade range together with ready-made bottle and closure combinations. If you are making your own choice, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation, especially for thicker emulsions and oils. Test-filling one bottle will show whether the closure seals and the contents dispense well.
