Product description
Plastic tablet jar, brown, with black lid, 150 ml
A complete set of a brown PET plastic jar with a capacity of 150 ml and a black plastic screw-top lid, designed for tablets, capsules and loose contents. The brown material reduces light transmission and helps protect contents sensitive to light. PET is lightweight and shatterproof, making it easy to fill and transport in larger batches. The set is approved for direct food contact and declared suitable for cosmetic products, making it equally well suited for dietary supplements or dried herbs as for bath salts, powder masks or firmer cosmetic products.
The wide opening makes it easy to fill and dispense the contents, whether tablets, capsules, granules or loose blends. The lid screws onto the jar's thread and its foam polyethylene insert improves the seal, so the set closes securely without any further adjustment.
Key benefits
- Light protection – the brown material reduces light reaching the contents, which is useful for plant extracts, vitamins, herbs and other light-sensitive ingredients.
- Food and cosmetic contact – both the jar and the lid have individual declarations of suitability for direct food contact and for cosmetics, so the complete set can be used for either.
- Lightweight and durable material – PET will not shatter on impact, weighs a fraction of glass and withstands everyday handling during filling, transport and daily use.
- Wide opening – convenient filling without a funnel, easy removal of tablets or scooping loose contents with a spoon.
- Ready-to-use combination – the jar and lid threads match, so there is no need to select a separate closure.
What the set is suitable for
The jar is designed primarily for solid and loose contents. In food applications these include tablets, capsules, dietary supplements, dried herbs, tea blends, spices or seeds. In cosmetics it is suitable for bath salts and bath bombs, powder cleansing blends, dry masks, sugar and salt scrubs, solid balms or butters scooped by hand or spatula.
The jar is not suitable for liquid or thin products. The wide opening does not allow precise dispensing and the risk of spillage during normal use is high. It can be used with thicker creams and butters, but if the product contains a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend testing the packaging with the specific formulation.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the volume for which the container is designed under normal filling conditions. Total volume to the rim is the physical volume of the jar up to the opening and is larger. The difference between them provides headspace for the lid with its sealing insert and the free space that loose contents need to be dispensed comfortably. The jar is filled to the nominal volume, not to the rim.
With tablets and capsules the capacity is not stated in millilitres but in number of pieces, which depends on their size. Before ordering larger quantities of packaging, we recommend filling one jar as a test and checking how many pieces fit with the lid closed.
Good to know
- Preparation before first filling – wash the jar and lid with warm water, optionally sanitise with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Moisture inside the container is the most common cause of caking or spoilage for loose products and tablets.
- Reuse – the PET jar can be reused after washing. When changing the contents, especially from scented to unscented products, bear in mind that the plastic may retain the odour of the previous contents.
- Heat – PET is not suitable for hot filling. Allow solid balms and butters to cool before pouring to a temperature at which they are still liquid but no longer hot, otherwise the container may deform.
- Aggressive substances – the container is not intended for concentrated solvents, strong acids or alkalis. For products with a higher content of essential oils or alcohol, verify compatibility on a single piece before filling the entire batch.
- Labelling – the brown background alters the appearance of colours on a transparent label; take this into account when designing the label.
- Recycling – the jar is made of PET and the lid of PP with a polyethylene insert; once empty, both belong in sorted plastic waste collection.
The lid with its sealing insert closes securely, but it is not declared as a child-resistant closure. Dietary supplements or other contents that must not be freely accessible should be stored out of reach of children.
