The glass vial is a professional packaging solution suitable for filling cosmetic formulations, pharmaceutical solutions and concentrated blends where content stability and reliable closure are important. High‑quality glass is chemically resistant, does not react with most common raw materials and, thanks to its dark coloration, naturally helps protect sensitive components from light, which you will appreciate especially for products prone to degradation.
This type of bottle is suitable for packaging liquid and low‑viscosity products that require precise dosing or hygienic handling. The glass container is stable, has a premium look and is suitable for small and medium batches of handmade cosmetics, medicinal solutions or concentrated extracts.
The standalone glass bottle is compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems according to the selected parameters. You can combine it, for example, with screw caps, droppers, spray pumps or practical applicators, allowing you to easily adapt the method of application to the specific type of product.
The packaging and closure combinations that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we recommend always carrying out your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation) so that you can be sure the packaging will function reliably with your specific recipe as well.
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
The packaging can be reused if basic hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned, any residue of the original product removed, and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol‑based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol (IPA 99 %) or plant‑based ethanol (Ethanol 96 %). Allow the disinfectant solution to remain in contact with the inner surface long enough to ensure effective sanitation, and allow the packaging to dry completely before filling.
The glass vial is generally very suitable for formulations containing essential oils, vegetable oils and alcohol, since glass is a stable and chemically resistant material. For highly concentrated blends, we recommend doing a trial fill with a smaller volume and a short‑term test to verify that the selected type of closure, seal and dropper remains fully functional and that there are no changes in the scent, colour or consistency of the product.
We recommend storing filled glass bottles in a dry, clean place, protected from direct sunlight and major temperature fluctuations. Always close the bottle carefully with a suitable closure or dispenser to minimise exposure to air and moisture. For sensitive formulations, such as serums with active ingredients or aromatherapy blends, ideal storage is at a stable, rather lower room temperature and away from heat sources.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste‑sorting rules and the information given in the parameter table for the product. In most cases, the glass bottle can be sorted into the container designated for glass. Before placing it in sorted waste, it is advisable to remove any coarse product residues and, where possible, to separate the closure or dropper, which are sorted according to material (e.g. plastic or metal). By recycling, you support the reuse of the material and reduce the amount of waste.
The easiest way to choose is to use the advanced filter, which you will find at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging category. In the advanced filter you can combine several criteria at once – for example neck type, packaging size, colour and material. In this way, you will quickly display only those bottles, vials, jars or dispensers that meet the technical requirements of your product as well as the visual concept of the packaging.
When choosing a closure, it is important to take into account the compatibility of the neck type, the desired dosing method and the consistency of the product. For liquid solutions, droppers or fine dispensers are suitable; for more viscous formulations, classic screw caps or applicators with a higher flow rate are more appropriate. We recommend carrying out a trial fill and testing the tightness of the closure, the accuracy of dosing and the behaviour of the product in contact with the material used, so that you can be sure of the long‑term reliable functionality of the packaging.
