Product description

Airless bottle 30 ml protects the contents from air and light and dispenses it without having to reach inside the container with fingers. It comes as a complete set: a black plastic bottle with a sliding piston and a black top with a pump and cap. Unlike a standard pump with a dip tube, the contents are not drawn in from the top — instead, the piston pushes them upward toward the dispenser. During use, no air enters the bottle, which slows down oxidation of sensitive ingredients and reduces the risk of contamination by hands or surroundings.

The set is particularly suited for facial serums, eye creams, light to medium-weight creams, gel emulsions and concentrated treatment preparations — products with a higher proportion of active ingredients where clean and accurate dosing matters. The opaque black plastic also limits light penetration, which is valuable for formulations containing vitamins, retinoids, plant oils or extracts prone to degradation and off-notes. Both the bottle and the top are made of polypropylene and the set as a whole is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

Why choose an airless system

  • Protection from air – the contents do not come into contact with air even during repeated dispensing, so antioxidants, vitamins and unsaturated oils retain their properties for longer.
  • Hygienic dispensing – no fingers reach into the bottle; the product comes out only through the dispenser. Suitable for formulations with a milder preservation system and for products intended for the eye area.
  • Accurate dose – one press releases approximately 0.5 ml of contents, making it easier to recommend dosing to customers and helping to conserve concentrated serums.
  • Works in any orientation – since it does not rely on a dip tube, it dispenses even when tilted or inverted, which standard dip-tube pumps cannot do.
  • Minimal residue – the piston pushes the contents almost all the way to the dispenser, leaving significantly less product in the container than a jar or a bottle with a dip tube.
  • Light protection – the black plastic blocks light from entering and usefully complements the air barrier for sensitive formulations.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the quantity the container is designed for during standard filling. In an airless bottle it corresponds to the volume the piston can push out. Total brim-full volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck with the piston in the lowest position. Both values are listed in the parameters. The difference between them provides space for the pump mechanism and a safety margin so the contents are not pushed out when the top is screwed on. Fill to the nominal volume, never to the brim.

Filling and preparation for use

Before first filling, we recommend washing both the bottle and the top, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing them to dry completely. The piston must be in the lowest position before filling. Fill from the top, ideally leaving as little air gap as possible in the upper part, so the pump does not have to push it out first. After screwing on the top, press the pump several times without product coming out until the mechanism fills up and begins to dispense evenly. This initial priming is normal for airless containers and it is worth noting it on the label or in the instructions.

The airless system works best with contents of medium viscosity — gel-type serums, light and medium-weight creams. Very fluid, water-like formulations may dispense unevenly and very firm balms are difficult to move with the piston. For borderline consistencies, we always recommend a trial fill.

Good to know

Polypropylene tolerates aqueous and emulsion systems and standard cosmetic raw materials. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol or solvents we recommend verifying the container's behaviour with the specific formulation, particularly the seal integrity of the mechanism and any changes to the plastic surface. The black finish has one practical drawback: the customer cannot see how much product remains, so it is advisable to state the number of doses or approximate usage on the label.

The smooth cylindrical shape labels well. When designing the label, leave a clear margin below the edge of the top, which opens or retracts during dispensing.

Refilling an airless bottle is limited. After emptying, the piston is in the top position and pushing it back to the bottom is possible but not always straightforward and may compromise the seal of the mechanism. The set is therefore intended primarily for single filling and subsequent recycling according to material type — plastics.

The set does not have food-contact approval. Do not use it for edible oils, syrups or dietary supplements, even if their consistency resembles that of cosmetic serums.

Frequently asked questions

Is the airless bottle 30 ml suitable for a vitamin serum or an oil serum?
Yes, the airless system is one of the best choices for serums with sensitive ingredients. The contents do not come into contact with air and the black plastic blocks light, which slows down oxidation of vitamins, retinoids and unsaturated oils. For very fluid oils we recommend a trial fill, as the piston and dispenser work best at medium viscosity.
How is the airless bottle filled and why does the pump not dispense at first?
The bottle is filled from the top with the piston in the lowest position, up to the nominal volume, then the top with the pump is screwed on. The first presses will not dispense product immediately because the mechanism must first fill with contents. Simply press the pump several times without product coming out until the product appears. This is normal behaviour for airless containers, not a defect.
Can the airless bottle 30 ml be refilled?
Refilling is possible only to a limited extent and we do not recommend it for regular use. After the contents are used up, the piston is at the top and must be pushed back down, which may affect the seal and even dispensing. The set is designed for a single fill, after which it is recycled as polypropylene.
How thick can a cream be in an airless bottle?
Serums, gel emulsions and light to medium-weight creams work best. Very firm balms and butters are difficult to move with the piston and the pump dispenses them unevenly. Very fluid formulations, on the other hand, may spurt or drip when pressed. For creams with higher viscosity, we recommend testing the container's behaviour with one trial bottle before a larger fill.
Does the black airless bottle protect the contents from light as well as from bacteria?
From light, yes — the opaque black plastic does not let it in. Against microbial contamination it protects indirectly: during use, the contents do not come into contact with fingers or air, so environmental contaminants do not reach the product. This does not replace the formulation's preservative system, but it does allow working with a milder preservation system than would be possible with a jar.
Is the airless bottle set also suitable for food products, for example for kitchen oils?
No, the set is not approved for food contact. Both the bottle and the top are declared suitable for cosmetic products only, so use it for serums, creams and other skin-care preparations. For edible oils, syrups or herbal extracts, choose packaging with food-contact approval.
