Product description

An airless bottle with a volume of 15 ml is a small dispensing container for cosmetics that should not come into contact with air. Instead of a classic pump with a dip tube, it works on the principle of a piston: with each press, a small dose of the contents is pushed out and the piston at the bottom moves upward, so no air is drawn into the bottle. The contents are thus better protected against oxidation and against contamination by fingers, which is a risk with jars. The set consists of a transparent bottle with a gold bottom and a gold top with a pump. It is supplied as a complete assembly ready for filling.

Thanks to the small volume, it is best suited for eye creams, concentrated serums with sensitive active ingredients, light creams and gels, samples, or travel-size products that you use in small amounts. The packaging is suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

Why choose an airless container

  • Protection of contents from air – the contents do not come into contact with air even during prolonged use. This helps with formulations containing ingredients sensitive to oxidation, such as vitamin C, retinol, or unsaturated plant oils.
  • Hygienic dispensing – the product is dispensed only through the pump and the container is never touched with fingers. Compared to open jars, this reduces demands on the preservative system, though preservation is still necessary.
  • Precise small dose – one press releases approximately 0.2 ml, always roughly the same amount. This is useful with concentrated products where dosing is done drop by drop.
  • Works in any position – the piston pushes the contents toward the pump regardless of whether the container is held upright or upside down, and it will dispense even the residue at the bottom.
  • Transparent body – you can see how much product remains and what colour it is. The gold bottom and top give the container a cohesive look without any additional decoration.

Use and filling

The bottle is filled from the top after unscrewing the pump top. Pour the contents or fill with a syringe directly into the body of the bottle onto the piston, then screw the top back on. The first few presses will prime the pump before the product begins to come out. This is normal behaviour of the airless system, not a defect.

Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The nominal volume is the amount for which the container is designed under standard filling conditions. The total capacity to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck, and the difference between them is a reserve for the pump and for the movement of the contents during dispensing. An overfilled container seals poorly and the pump is harder to prime.

The airless pump works best with contents of medium consistency: serums, gels, emulsions, and light to medium-thick creams. Very thin, watery liquids may not be dispensed accurately and can drip after pressing. Very thick balms may not be pushed out by the pump at all. For borderline consistencies, we recommend testing one unit before filling an entire batch.

The bottle body is made of SAN plastic, which is hard, clear, and resistant to common cosmetic ingredients. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol, or other solvents, we recommend verifying the container's behaviour with the specific formulation. Such components can cloud or weaken some plastics over time.

A transparent container does not protect the contents from light. Products sensitive to light, such as those containing vitamin C, retinol, or certain plant extracts, should be stored in the dark or in a box, or choose an opaque airless container.

What is good to know

  • Preparation before first filling – the container is new and clean, but before filling with cosmetics we recommend sanitising it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing it to dry completely.
  • Repeated use – the piston is not designed to be disassembled and thorough cleaning of the inside after previous contents is difficult. The airless container is therefore better suited for a single filling. If reusing, check that the pump still seals properly and the piston moves freely.
  • Labelling – the straight body of the bottle allows a label or small sticker to be applied. A clear label also looks good on the transparent body.
  • Amount per dose – for an eye cream or concentrated serum, a small dose is an advantage. For products applied to the entire face, allow for two to three presses.
  • Recycling – the bottle body is made of plastic, the top combines aluminium and plastic. After the contents are used up, we recommend separating the top and body and sorting each part by material.

Frequently asked questions

How does the 15 ml airless bottle work and why does it have no dip tube?
An airless bottle dispenses its contents using a piston at the bottom rather than a dip tube. When the pump is pressed, a vacuum is created that pushes the piston upward and forces the contents out, while no air is drawn into the container. The contents are thus protected from oxidation and the container works in any position, including upside down.
Is the 15 ml airless bottle suitable for a vitamin C serum?
Yes, an airless container is one of the most suitable choices for a vitamin C serum, as it prevents air from reaching the contents. However, this variant is transparent and does not protect the contents from light, so store the serum in the dark or in a box. The stability of the specific formulation should also be verified in the actual container.
How do I fill the 15 ml airless bottle?
Unscrew the pump top, fill the contents from the top directly onto the piston to the nominal volume, and screw the top back on. The first few presses will only prime the pump before the product begins to come out. Do not fill the container to the brim, as it will seal poorly and the pump will be harder to prime.
What consistency of product can be dispensed from the 15 ml airless bottle?
It works best with serums, gels, and light to medium-thick creams. Very thin liquids may drip after pressing and very thick balms may not be dispensed by the pump. For borderline consistencies, we recommend filling one unit and testing the dispensing before producing an entire batch.
Is the 15 ml airless bottle also suitable for oil-based products?
Oil serums and blends of plant oils can be dispensed from it, and the protection from air is an advantage for oils prone to yellowing. With very thin oils, expect a less precise dose. Formulations with a high proportion of essential oils should be tested first, as they can cloud SAN plastic over time.
