Product description
Glass bottle, clear, 13/410, 6 ml
A small glass bottle made of clear glass with a narrow neck and 13/410 thread is designed for precise dispensing and storage of small volumes of liquid preparations. It is primarily suited for serums, facial and body oils, tinctures, fragrance compositions and for samples or travel sizes where you need to measure out very small quantities. Clear glass lets you see the contents, making colour and fill level easy to read — practical for samples and test formulations.
Glass is an inert material that does not react with the contents, does not leach any substances into the fill, and does not absorb fragrances. This makes it suitable for alcohol-based and oil-based contents as well as essential oils, which can degrade certain plastics. The packaging is suitable for contact with cosmetic products and meets the relevant regulatory requirements.
Key features
- Clear glass – shows the colour and consistency of the contents, ideal for transparent samples and wherever visibility of the fill is an advantage.
- Narrow neck 13/410 – standardised thread for controlled dispensing drop by drop or in small amounts.
- Small volume – practical for concentrated active ingredients, fragrance oils and samples where you work in millilitres.
- Inert glass material – does not react with alcohol-based or oil-based formulations and does not absorb fragrance.
Nominal and total volume
With small bottles it is worth distinguishing two figures. The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is intended for under normal filling — the bottle is filled up to this volume. The total brim-full volume is the physical volume up to the neck and is somewhat larger. The difference between them is an intentional allowance for the closure, dropper or pump, and for any expansion of the contents. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.
Choosing a closure
Clear glass does not filter light, so it does not protect the contents from it on its own. For light-sensitive formulations (certain active ingredients, oils prone to oxidation) consider storing in the dark or opt for dark glass; a clear bottle is advantageous where you want to see the contents.
Closures with the same neck type and ready-made bottle-plus-closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. With a custom combination we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing behaviour and compatibility of the packaging with the specific formulation.
Before the first fill, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Clean, dry glass will extend the stability of the contents and prevent cloudiness in alcohol-based formulations.
Good to know
Glass is fragile and sensitive to sudden temperature changes — avoid filling a cold bottle directly with a hot liquid. The empty packaging can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. Store it in a dry, clean environment.
