Plastic 18/415 sprayer in a glossy black-gold finish is a pump closure that turns a bottle with an 18/415 neck into a spray with a fine mist. Suitable for thin, water-based contents – facial tonics, hydrolats, face and body mists, hair sprays or perfume waters. What contents is the sprayer designed for

The sprayer works reliably with contents that have viscosity close to water: tonics, hydrolats, floral waters, aqueous mists with humectants, hair sprays, solutions with a low proportion of solubilised essential oils, perfume and cologne waters. The mechanism is made of polypropylene, the collar of aluminium.

Oils, oil serums and thicker emulsions are not suitable – the pump draws them in with difficulty, the nozzle produces a stream or drops instead of mist, and the mechanism gradually clogs. Equally unsuitable are contents with undissolved particles (scrub, sediment from herbal extracts) that block the nozzle and valve. With a higher proportion of alcohol or undiluted essential oils, with strong solvents or contents with extreme pH, we recommend verifying the compatibility of the plastic parts and the seal with the finished formulation.

How to use the sprayer

After screwing onto the bottle, the sprayer needs to be pressed several times without content until the tube draws up the contents and the nozzle starts producing a mist. This is normal pump behaviour, not a defect. It is advisable to fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the rim of the neck. The headspace above the liquid gives room to the tube and pump, and the contents are not forced out through the thread when screwing on.

The sprayer is designed for use in an upright position. When spraying upside down or at a steep angle, it draws in air instead of contents. During transport, always keep the transparent cap on and store the bottle upright.

Good to know

Before the first filling, we recommend rinsing the sprayer: submerge the tube in clean water, spray several times and let the parts air-dry freely. The same procedure is useful when reusing, to remove residues of the previous contents from the tube and nozzle.

The sprayer fits bottles and vials with an 18/415 neck from the Handymade range; ready-made bottle + sprayer combinations have their own description. For custom combinations we recommend verifying tightness and behaviour with the specific formulation, especially with alcohol-based contents that penetrate the thread more easily than water. The gold collar is made of aluminium, the mechanism is plastic. When sorting waste, unscrew the sprayer from the bottle and dispose of it separately as a composite packaging.
