Product description

This is a mechanical sprayer with a 24/410 neck that dispenses the bottle contents as a fine mist. It is suitable for water-based and light liquid products applied in small amounts evenly over a larger surface – facial tonics, hydrolate mists, hair sprays, refreshing body sprays, or textile and linen sprays. The white plastic with a matte silver collar looks clean and neutral, making it suitable for various brands and product types without visually competing with the label.

The sprayer body is made of polypropylene (PP), the collar of aluminium. A clear cap is included, protecting the button from accidental pressing during transport or in a bag. The sprayer is suitable for use with cosmetic products and meets cosmetic packaging requirements; a declaration of conformity is available with the product.

Intended contents

  • Aqueous solutions and hydrolates – facial tonics, floral waters, mists with a low proportion of glycerin or active ingredients. This is where the sprayer produces the finest and most even mist.
  • Alcohol sprays – light eau de toilette, deodorant sprays and hand sanitising solutions. Polypropylene tolerates alcohol well; at high concentrations of essential oils or other solvents, we recommend testing the sprayer in advance.
  • Hair and body sprays – leave-in conditioners, sea salt sprays, low-viscosity hair texture mists.
  • Workshop and household aids – spraying alcohol onto cold-process soap surfaces, moistening mixtures when making bath bombs, applying cleaning solutions to fabrics.

Not suitable for thick and oily contents. Vegetable oils, higher-viscosity serums or emulsions will not atomise – the contents will squirt in a stream or clog the nozzle. A pump or dropper is more suitable for these products.

Use and assembly

The sprayer screws onto a bottle with the same 24/410 neck type. The dip tube fits standard bottles with this thread. For a shorter bottle, trim it with a sharp knife or scissors so it ends just above the bottom, and cut the end at a slight angle – the angled cut prevents the tube from suctioning to the bottom.

Before first use, press the button several times without contents until the mechanism fills. The mist will only appear after the liquid has been drawn up through the dip tube – this is normal during the first few presses.

Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The headspace belongs to the dip tube and the mechanism, which extends into the neck when screwed on. If the bottle is overfilled, the contents will overflow when closing and the sprayer may not seal properly.

Bottles with a 24/410 neck as well as ready-made bottle and sprayer combinations are available in the Handymade range. With your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosage and packaging behaviour with your specific formulation, especially if it contains a higher proportion of alcohol or essential oils.

What is good to know

  • Small dose per press – the sprayer is designed for fine application, not for quickly emptying the bottle. For products applied in larger amounts, a trigger sprayer with a higher dose is more suitable.
  • Residue in the bottle – the mechanism draws contents through the dip tube, so the last few millilitres below the end of the tube will not be sprayed. A correctly shortened dip tube reduces this residue.
  • Preservation of contents – water-based products in the sprayer need preservation just as in any other packaging. The sprayer is not an airless system and the contents are in contact with the air inside the dip tube and mechanism.
  • Reuse – the sprayer can be rinsed with clean water and left to dry. When changing the contents, spray it several times with water or alcohol to remove any residue of fragrance or colourant from the mechanism. The mechanism cannot be disassembled.

Do not boil the sprayer or put it in the dishwasher. High temperature can damage the spring and seals in the mechanism. For disinfection, rinsing with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and thorough drying is sufficient.

Frequently asked questions

What type of bottle is the 24/410 plastic sprayer suitable for?
The 24/410 plastic sprayer is suitable for any bottle with a 24/410 neck, regardless of the bottle material – glass or PET. The 24/410 thread is one of the most common cosmetic bottle neck types. With a different neck, for example 18/410 or 28/410, the sprayer will not seal and cannot be used. The bottle neck type is stated in its specifications.
Can the plastic sprayer be used with oil?
No, the plastic sprayer is not suitable for oily or thick contents. It is designed for liquids with viscosity close to water. Oil will not form a mist, will squirt in a stream, and the nozzle clogs over time. For oil serums and body oils, we recommend a pump or dropper with the same neck type.
Is the plastic sprayer suitable for alcohol solutions and perfumes?
Yes, the polypropylene sprayer tolerates solutions containing ethanol, such as hand sanitiser, body sprays or light eau de toilette. For products with a high concentration of essential oils or with other solvents, we recommend testing in advance for several weeks in the finished bottle and monitoring the seal and mechanism function.
Why doesn't the plastic sprayer spray after screwing on?
The mechanism must first fill with contents, so the mist only appears after the liquid has been drawn from the bottle through the dip tube. Simply press the button several times in a row. If no mist comes even then, the usual cause is a dip tube that is too long and bent against the bottom, a loosely fitted sprayer, or contents with too high a viscosity.
How to shorten the dip tube of the plastic sprayer for a shorter bottle?
Trim the tube with a sharp knife or scissors so that it ends just above the bottom of the bottle when screwed on, and cut the end at a slight angle. The angled cut will prevent the tube from suctioning to the bottom and the sprayer will draw the contents almost to the end. The tube length is stated in the sprayer specifications, the bottle height in the bottle specifications.
