Green Glass Bottle with Roll-On, 50 ml

The green 50 ml glass roll-on bottle is a ready-to-use set: a green glass medicine bottle, an insert with a metal roller ball and a black plastic cap with an 18/410 neck finish. As it moves over the skin, the ball applies a thin layer of the contents, so the product is dispensed without dripping and your fingers do not come into contact with the contents.

All three components of the set are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products and have an EU declaration of conformity. The set is intended for cosmetics, not for food.

What it is suitable for

A volume of 50 ml is larger than is usual for roll-ons used for travel perfume oils. It is therefore suitable for products that are applied more often or over larger areas:

• Aromatherapy blends – essential oils diluted in a carrier oil, applied to the temples, wrists or neck.
• Oil serums and body oils – massage blends for smaller areas or a cuticle oil.
• Perfume oils – anhydrous compositions with lower viscosity, which the ball spreads evenly.
• Alcohol-based and hydrosol roll-ons – refreshing blends for the temples or neck. Check the tightness and the movement of the ball with your specific formulation.

Thicker oils and gels are dispensed more slowly through the ball. With more viscous formulations, test the flow on a smaller quantity before you fill the whole batch.

Filling and dispensing

The bottle is filled without the insert. The insert with the ball is then pressed into the neck until it clicks into place, and finally the cap is screwed on. When fitted, the insert takes up part of the space in the neck, so the bottle is not filled to the brim.

The nominal volume of 50 ml is the volume for which the packaging is designed under normal filling. The total brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the insert with the ball. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

The insert with the ball is made of polypropylene and steel. For blends with a high proportion of undiluted essential oils or for aqueous solutions, it is worth running a test with a single piece and checking the tightness and the smooth movement of the ball.

The set can be used repeatedly. Prise the insert out of the neck with a thin flat tool, pour out the contents, then wash and disinfect all the parts.
