Key ingredients in the recipe

Every ingredient has its role in the balm. You will find them all in our range — base ingredients and essential oils.

Mango butter

Butter · Nourishment and softening

Mango butter is full of natural antioxidants and vitamins that nourish and soften the skin. It is easily absorbed into the skin and does not leave it greasy. It is suitable for dry as well as problematic skin.

Lanolin

From sheep’s wool · Protective layer

Lanolin is obtained from sheep’s wool and has the ability to retain moisture in the skin. It softens, protects and repairs dry and cracked skin. On the skin it creates a protective layer and protects it in the long term. By its composition it most closely resembles human sebum.

Beeswax

Wax · Nourishment and regeneration

Beeswax nourishes, protects and hydrates the skin, also has regenerative effects and contains vitamin A.

Carnauba wax

The hardest natural wax · Barrier

Carnauba wax is the hardest natural wax. It has similar effects to beeswax, but contains more long-chain substances, thereby creating a stronger barrier against skin drying.

Arnica – macerate in sunflower oil

Macerate · Soothing and healing

Arnica macerate has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and soothing effects, supports blood circulation and healing of the skin.

The scent and quality of the balm are rounded off at the end by ingredients C:

Narrow-leaved lavender essential oil has disinfectant and soothing effects.

Tea-tree essential oil has strong antiseptic and antibacterial effects.

Vitamin E – Tocopherol is a strong antioxidant, improves the elasticity of the skin, helps to soothe and heal it.

Formulation (100 g)

The recipe is divided into three phases (A – C). From the listed amount of ingredients we obtain about 90 grams of lanolin balm for dry skin.

Method

  1. Disinfecting and melting ingredients A

Into a container disinfected with ethanol (ideally made of heat-resistant glass) we weigh out ingredients A and melt them in a water bath. Stir until the mixture is perfectly liquid.

    Phase Awater bath
  2. Cooling and the arnica macerate

Then remove the container from the water bath and let it cool at room temperature. When the mixture starts to thicken, gradually stir in ingredient B – the arnica macerate.

    Phase Broom temperature
  3. Whipping to a creamy consistency

To obtain a pleasant creamy consistency, it is good to use a hand electric mixer (whisk) and alternately cool the mixture in the refrigerator and whip it again. When we repeat this procedure several times, we obtain a soft but firmer balm.
