Product description

Plastic bottle, transparent 24/410, 300 ml

Transparent plastic bottle with a 300 ml capacity and a 24/410 threaded neck, intended for filling with your own cosmetics. The clear material shows the contents, so it is particularly suitable for products where the colour or consistency should be visible at first glance – body lotions, shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, toners or micellar waters. The plastic is lightweight and unbreakable, which you will appreciate for products used in the shower, at the sink or carried in a bag.

What the bottle is suitable for

  • Rinse-off products – shower gels, shampoos, conditioners and liquid soaps, where the volume corresponds to a standard pack for several weeks of use.
  • Body care – body lotions, light emulsions and moisturising gels, which are conveniently dispensed from the bottle with a pump or a cap with an opening.
  • Water-based preparations – toners, hydrosols, micellar waters and facial mists combined with a spray.
  • Trial and gift packs – the transparent wall shows a coloured gel, a pearlescent shampoo or a two-phase preparation without opening it.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume the bottle is intended for under normal filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is somewhat larger. The difference forms a reserve for the closure, the pump or spray dip tube and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim – otherwise the contents are pushed out when the closure is fitted and the product may leak when carried.

With gel-based and thicker products, leave a slightly larger reserve in the neck so that when the bottle is squeezed or the dip tube is inserted, the contents do not reach the thread and the closure seats cleanly.

Closures and ready-made combinations

The bottle has a 24/410 threaded neck. Closures with the same neck type – caps, pumps and sprays – and ready-made bottle + closure combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend verifying the leak-tightness and dispensing with the specific formulation, especially with thin water-based preparations and products with a higher proportion of oils.

What is good to know

Preparation before first filling. Rinse the bottle before use, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Residual water in the container would dilute the preservative system and increase the risk of microbial contamination.

Clear plastic does not protect the contents from light. Fill products with sensitive ingredients – essential oils, vitamin C, retinoids, natural colourants – into this bottle only if they will be stored in the dark or used up quickly. For sensitive formulations stored over the long term, choose an opaque or dark container.

Plastic and aggressive ingredients. Higher concentrations of essential oils, fragrance compositions or solvents may soften or cloud the plastic over time. For such formulations we recommend a simple compatibility test: set the filled bottle aside for a few weeks and watch for deformation, clouding and changes in scent.

Heat. Fill the contents cooled to room temperature. A hot emulsion or gel phase can deform the wall of the bottle.

Labelling. The flat part of the body is suitable for applying a label.

Reuse and recycling. The bottle can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection, provided it is not scratched or cloudy. When empty and rinsed, it belongs in separated plastic collection.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 24/410, 300 ml plastic bottle suitable for water-based preparations, for example toners and hydrosols?
Yes, the bottle is suitable for both water-based and emulsion cosmetic preparations. With water-based products, use a closure that seals – for thin liquids we recommend checking whether the contents leak when the bottle is laid on its side. A water-based preparation must always be preserved; the container itself does not protect it against microbial growth.
Does the transparent plastic bottle protect the contents from light?
No, clear plastic lets light through. Fill products with light-sensitive ingredients – vitamin C, retinoids, unstable plant oils or natural colourants – into it only if they will be stored in the dark or used up quickly. For sensitive formulations stored over the long term, a dark or opaque container is more suitable.
How much content fits into the 300 ml bottle and up to where should it be filled?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 300 ml, not to the brim. The total volume up to the neck is larger, and the difference serves as a reserve for the closure, the pump or spray dip tube and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. An overfilled bottle is pushed out when the closure is fitted and may leak.
What closure fits a bottle with a 24/410 thread?
Every closure with a 24/410 neck fits the bottle – a cap, a pump and a spray. Closures with this thread and ready-made bottle + closure combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend verifying the leak-tightness and dispensing with the specific formulation.
Can the 300 ml plastic bottle be used for essential oils or fragrance compositions?
We do not recommend the bottle for concentrated essential oils and fragrance compositions. A high proportion of these ingredients may soften or cloud the plastic over time. For standard cosmetic products with usual dosing of fragrance ingredients the bottle is usable, but with a new formulation it is advisable to run a compatibility test over several weeks.
How should the bottle be prepared and cleaned before refilling?
Rinse the bottle thoroughly with warm water, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Residues of the previous product and water in the container can spoil the new contents. When reusing, check the bottle – scratched or cloudy plastic is harder to clean and can retain impurities.
