Plastic bottle for cleaning products, white 500 ml

The white 500 ml plastic cleaning bottle is a lightweight PET bottle with a threaded neck, designed for filling household and professional cleaning products – all-purpose cleaners, dish, floor and bathroom cleaners, or liquid laundry and fabric softener preparations. It will not shatter like glass, so a drop on bathroom tiles usually causes no damage, and the white opaque wall diffuses light, protecting contents whose colour or fragrance may change over time with light exposure.

The packaging material is also suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The bottle is therefore used for shower gels, shampoos, liquid soaps and body milks in 500 ml volumes, where the low weight and good durability under everyday use are key advantages.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is designed under normal filling conditions. The total brim-full capacity is the physical volume up to the neck and is always slightly larger. The difference forms a headspace for the closure, pump or sprayer tube and allows for expansion of the contents when temperature changes. The bottle should be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim – otherwise the contents will overflow when the closure is fitted, and thicker preparations will be harder to dispense.

Closure by neck type

The bottle has a threaded neck of the type specified in the product parameters. All closures with the same neck type fit – caps, pumps and sprayers alike – and ready-made bottle-and-closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying leak-tightness and dispensing performance with the specific preparation, particularly for thinner formulations that could leak during transport.

Preparation and reuse

Before first use, wash the bottle with warm water and detergent, disinfect as needed with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry completely – residual water would dilute the contents and, in cosmetic applications, increases preservation demands. The bottle is designed for repeated use: once empty, simply rinse and dry. When switching to a different type of preparation, wash thoroughly so that residues of the previous contents do not mix with the new one.

The smooth white body is suitable for labelling. Bottle dimensions are listed in the product parameters; for spray bottles, choose a label size that will not be wetted by product running down the surface during use.

What to watch out for with PET

PET is lightweight and sturdy, but it has its limits. The bottle should not be filled with hot contents – at elevated temperatures the plastic softens and deforms, so preparations should be allowed to cool to room temperature before filling. The material is not intended for aggressive chemicals. Caution is advised with strongly alkaline preparations, concentrated chlorine-based cleaners, preparations with a higher proportion of solvents, and formulations with a high content of essential oils, which may cloud or soften the plastic over time.

The bottle is made from PET, which is among the commonly recycled plastics. Once empty and rinsed, it should be placed in plastic waste collection in accordance with the rules applicable in the given municipality.
