Plastic tamper-evident cap 18 mm is a white screw closure made from PET that leaves a visible mark after the first opening. Beneath the cap there is a tamper ring that breaks off on first unscrewing and remains on the neck, so both the customer and the manufacturer can immediately see whether the contents have already been opened. It fits bottles with an 18 mm neck, filled with oils, serums, tinctures, herbal extracts or syrups intended for sale or as gifts.

The closure is suitable for contact with cosmetics and for direct food contact, making it equally suitable for cosmetic products, homemade oils, extracts or syrups. The designation type 2 distinguishes this version in the Handymade range from other tamper-evident caps with the same diameter.

Suitable bottles and contents

The cap fits bottles with the same neck type as stated in the product parameters. Suitable bottles and ready-made bottle and cap combinations are available in the Handymade range. For custom combinations, we recommend testing seal integrity and closure behaviour with the specific formulation.

Most commonly used for smaller volumes: facial and body oils, serums, oil-based extracts, tinctures, aromatherapy blends, as well as food products such as flavoured oils, syrups or herbal drops. With concentrated essential oils and alcohol-based contents, it is advisable to check that the closure remains sealed and does not deform.

Working with the cap

Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the rim of the neck. The headspace is necessary to prevent the closure from displacing the contents when tightened and to allow the contents room to expand with temperature changes. Screw the cap on by hand and tighten until the tamper ring snaps behind the neck bead. Further forced tightening is not necessary and could damage the thread.

Before first use, wash the closures and allow them to dry completely. Heat sterilisation is not recommended; keep the closures away from heat and aggressive chemicals.

Good to know

The cap is designed for a single tamper-evident closure. Once the ring has broken off, the cap can be screwed back on and functions as a standard screw closure, but without any proof of integrity. If every package is required to carry tamper evidence, use a new cap for each new bottle.
