Product description
The mechanical fine mist sprayer with a 24/410 neck finish turns a bottle with the same neck into a fine mist spray bottle. It is suitable for facial toners, hydrosols, hair and body sprays, as well as alcohol and water solutions used in soap and candle making. The white head with a glossy silver aluminium collar looks clean and matches both white and clear bottles. The sprayer is of both cosmetic and technical grade, so it can be used in cosmetics production as well as in the workshop.
What it is suitable for
The sprayer works with thin, liquid contents. It gives the best results with:
- Toners and hydrosols – a water phase without thickeners sprays evenly and the nozzle does not clog.
- Hair and body sprays – light alcohol or water solutions, optionally with a proportion of solubilised essential oils.
- Alcohol and water in the workshop – spraying isopropyl alcohol to remove bubbles from the surface of a soap base, and cleaning containers and moulds.
Dispensing and working with the sprayer
One press releases approximately 0.12 ml of the contents, so a 100 ml bottle gives you around 800 doses. The mechanism must be primed before first use. After screwing the sprayer onto the bottle, press the head several times until the dip tube and piston fill and the sprayer starts spraying continuously. After a longer pause, the first press is sometimes wasted, after which the dose stabilises.
Compare the length of the dip tube with the height of the bottle. The tube should end just above the bottom. If it is longer, shorten it with a sharp knife using a straight cut, otherwise it bends at the bottom and the sprayer draws in air.
The nozzle cannot spray thick oils, emulsions, gels and products with a thickener. A thin stream comes out or the mechanism becomes clogged. With each new formulation, test one piece and check the spraying and the seal after several days.
Good to know
The head and the mechanism are made of polypropylene (PP), the collar of aluminium. PP withstands water, alcohol and common cosmetic ingredients. With a higher proportion of essential oils or with other solvents, check the compatibility of the material in the finished formulation.
Before the first filling, rinse the sprayer with clean water, spray the inside with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let it dry completely. When changing the contents, immerse the dip tube in warm water and press the head until clear water comes out, then finally pump alcohol through. The sprayer is intended for repeated use. Replace it when the spray weakens or the contents leak at the thread.
Bottles with a 24/410 neck and ready-made bottle and closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, check the seal and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.
