Product description
Pump sprayer with a 24/410 neck thread turns the thin, water-based contents of a bottle into a fine mist. It is designed for products applied over a larger area without hand contact: tonics, hydrosols, refreshing sprays and light hair waters. The matte black finish and smooth collar without ridging complement both dark and clear bottles and do not highlight fingerprints.
The sprayer is supplied separately, without a bottle. It fits any bottle with a 24/410 neck from the Handymade range; with your own combination we recommend checking the seal, dosage and behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation. The packaging is suitable for use with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity can be found on the product page.
Key features
- Fine mist – the pump mechanism disperses a small dose over a larger area; the product is applied evenly and without dripping.
- One-hand operation – the lever is pressed with a finger while the other hand remains free, which is practical when applying to hair or body skin.
- Hygienic dispensing – the bottle contents do not come into contact with hands, and less contamination enters the bottle compared to an open neck.
- Long dip tube – the dip tube reaches the bottom of taller bottles; it can be trimmed to the height of a specific bottle using a sharp knife or scissors.
- Polypropylene – a light, shatter-resistant and durable material that handles both water-based and alcohol-based contents well.
Which products is it suitable for
The sprayer works best with thin, water-based liquids that pass through the nozzle without resistance. It is particularly suitable for:
- facial and body tonics, hydrosols and floral waters,
- refreshing face and body sprays, thermal and mineral sprays,
- hair waters, sea salt sprays, light leave-in conditioners,
- room and home sprays, water- and alcohol-based air fresheners,
- household cleaning sprays, plant misters and sprays for working with soap batter.
Less suitable for thick or viscous products (emulsions, gels, serums with a thickener) and for pure vegetable oils. A thick content will either fail to draw up through the tube or come out as a stream rather than a mist. Light oil blends should be tested on a small quantity first.
Before filling a bottle with a spray containing a higher alcohol content, essential oils or solvents, we recommend testing the mechanism for a few days. Polypropylene is fairly resistant to these substances, but high concentrations of essential oils may act on the seals in the pump head.
What's good to know
Preparation before first use. The sprayer is not supplied sterile. Before the first fill, we recommend rinsing the pump head and dip tube with clean water or a solution of ethanol or isopropyl alcohol, pumping a few strokes into the air and letting it dry completely. Residual water in the mechanism would dilute the first doses of the product.
Filling the bottle. The bottle should be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed for under normal filling conditions; the total volume up to the neck is larger, and the difference provides a reserve for the dip tube, the closure and expansion of the contents. If the bottle is overfilled, the contents will overflow through the thread when the pump head is screwed on.
First strokes. A new sprayer needs to be "primed" with several presses of the lever until the dip tube and chamber fill with liquid. Only then does it deliver a full dose. This is normal behaviour, not a defect.
Tightening and sealing. Tighten the pump head by hand, without tools. Check that the collar sits evenly on the neck; a crooked pump head will not seal. Carry a filled bottle in an upright position.
Repeated use. The sprayer can be used multiple times. After emptying, simply rinse it, pump clean water or diluted alcohol through it and let it dry. When switching products (especially from a scented to an unscented one), keep in mind that the plastic may retain some of the fragrance.
Label. The sprayer itself is not labelled; the label belongs on the bottle, and its dimensions can be found in the specifications of the specific bottle.
Recycling. The sprayer is made of polypropylene; after emptying and rinsing, it should be placed in sorted plastic waste according to local regulations.
The sprayer does not preserve the water-based contents; it only limits contamination during application. Hydrosols and tonics without a preservative will spoil in it just as they would in a regular bottle. Preservation of the contents according to pH and formulation is still necessary.
