Product description
This clear, round 200 ml PET plastic bottle with a 24/410 neck finish is designed for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products: body lotions, shower gels, shampoos, toners, micellar waters and massage oils. The clear plastic shows the colour and consistency of the contents, so it also suits coloured bath products or preparations where the customer should see how much is left. It is supplied without closure, in a pack of 84, which pays off for larger production runs, markets or filling for your own e-shop.
The packaging material is suitable for use with cosmetic products and meets the relevant legislative requirements. You will find the declaration of conformity with the product.
What the bottle is suited for
The 200 ml volume suits shower and body products, where more contents are used than with serums or face creams.
- Shower gels and shampoos – with a cap, a viscous gel is dispensed by squeezing the bottle.
- Body lotions and lighter emulsions – a pump dispenses them cleanly and without hands touching the contents.
- Toners, micellar waters and hydrosols – water-based products are filled into a bottle with a sprayer or a cap.
- Massage and bath oils – the clear plastic shows the purity and colour of the oil. With a higher proportion of essential oils, we recommend a trial fill.
- Liquid soaps and cleaning products – for the bathroom or kitchen, where it is appreciated that the bottle does not break when dropped.
Material and clarity
PET is lightweight and unbreakable, which at a volume of 200 ml reduces both the weight of the parcel and the risk of damage in transit. The wall of the bottle can be squeezed, so the contents can be dispensed even without a pump.
Clear plastic does not protect the contents from light. Light-sensitive formulations, for example products with a high proportion of essential oils, unstable vegetable oils or certain active ingredients, are better suited to an amber or otherwise coloured bottle. A clear bottle suits contents whose light stability is ensured by the composition, or a product stored in a cabinet away from direct sunlight.
Protect the bottle from heat and do not fill it hot. Allow emulsions, gels and soaps to cool to room temperature before filling, otherwise the wall of the bottle may become deformed.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume of 200 ml is the quantity the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The brimful volume, that is the physical volume up to the neck, is larger and you will find it in the parameters. The difference provides a reserve for the closure, the dip tube of the pump or sprayer, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume and the space above the liquid is left free. With a pump, bear in mind that its dip tube takes up part of this space.
Closures
The bottle is sold separately. Caps, pumps and sprayers with a 24/410 neck finish, as well as ready-made bottle and closure combinations, are available in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, the smoothness of dispensing and the behaviour of the bottle with your specific formulation in advance, especially with thick gels or oil-based contents.
Good to know
Before the first filling, rinse the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely. Fill the bottle only once it is dry, with no residual water.
The bottles are suitable for repeated use if they are thoroughly washed and disinfected after being emptied.
Do not expose the plastic to aggressive chemicals and solvents. With formulations containing a high proportion of essential oils, fragrance compositions or alcohol, it is worth carrying out a trial fill and checking after a few weeks whether the wall has become cloudy, softened or released an odour.
Pour viscous gels and soaps slowly and down the wall of the bottle so that no air bubbles form in the mass. In clear packaging the bubbles are visible and visually lower the fill level.
