White Plastic Bottle, 18 mm, 50 ml, 800 pcs

This plastic pharmaceutical bottle with a volume of 50 ml and an 18 mm neck is designed for smaller quantities of liquid preparations: facial serums, oils, tinctures, toners or solutions that are dispensed by the drop or sprayed. It is made of PET, so it is light and will not break if dropped or during transport. The white wall hides the contents and limits light exposure, which you will appreciate with oils, extracts and serums that lose colour or fragrance more quickly in light.

The packaging is approved for direct food contact as well as for cosmetic products, so it also suits homemade oils, syrups and herbal extracts. The pack contains 800 pcs, which allows for producing larger batches, packing samples or keeping a supply for a workshop or small business.

What it is suited for

• Serums and oil blends – the 50 ml volume corresponds to the usual size of a facial serum or facial oil, which is used up within a few weeks.
• Toners, hydrolates and facial waters – with a fine mist sprayer for the 18 mm neck, you get a travel or trial pack.
• Tinctures and extracts – alcohol-based and aqueous extracts are easy to dispense from the bottle with a dropper.
• Samples and test batches – when developing a recipe or sending samples to customers, an unbreakable bottle that does not need to be returned comes in handy.
• Food use – flavoured oils, syrups, concentrates or herbal drops for beverages.

Volume and filling

Nominal volume is the amount the packaging is intended for under normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference between the two provides a reserve for the closure or dropper and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the contents will be pushed out when the dropper is inserted or the closure will not seal properly.

Closures

The pharmaceutical bottle takes closures with the same neck type as stated in the parameters. If you are creating your own combination, we recommend checking the seal, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation before filling the whole batch.

Good to know

Before the first filling, rinse the bottles, wash them if needed, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual water in the packaging would dilute an anhydrous product or burden the preservative system of a water-based preparation.

Fill the bottle only once the contents have cooled down. A hot emulsion or oil may deform the wall of the bottle, so emulsions are first cooled with constant stirring and filled only at room temperature. For the same reason, do not wash the packaging in boiling water and do not leave it near a heat source.

The bottle can be reused if you wash and disinfect it thoroughly between fillings.
