Product description
The white plastic bottle with a volume of 300 ml and a 24/410 neck finish is intended for filling with shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, liquid soaps, body lotions and body or massage oils in a standard home size. It is made of PET, is lightweight and unbreakable, which you will appreciate in the bathroom, when travelling and when sending out finished products. The opaque white wall conceals the contents and limits exposure to light, so it is also suitable for formulations containing ingredients that do not tolerate clear packaging. It is supplied without closure, in packs of 170. A pack of this size is aimed at producers who fill larger batches and choose the closure according to the type of product.
The packaging is approved for direct contact with cosmetic products and food. Besides cosmetics, you can therefore also use it for homemade oils, syrups or herbal infusions. The declaration of conformity and the certificate of analysis are provided with the product.
What it is suitable for
- Rinse-off products – shower gels, shampoos, conditioners and liquid soaps, where 300 ml is used up within a reasonable time.
- Body lotions and cream emulsions – thinner and medium-thick textures that are dispensed by squeezing the bottle or with a pump.
- Body and massage oils – the opaque packaging helps with oils that age faster in light.
- Food products – oils, syrups and infusions, as the packaging has a certificate for direct contact with food.
Nominal volume and headroom for the closure
The nominal volume of 300 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The physical volume up to the neck is larger. The difference provides headroom for the closure, pump or sprayer, whose inner part extends into the contents, as well as space for the contents to expand when the temperature changes. Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim.
Closures
The bottle fits closures with the same neck type as stated in the parameters. You can find closures sold separately as well as ready-made bottle + closure combinations in the Handymade range. If you choose your own combination, we recommend checking the seal, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation, especially with thicker textures and with products intended for travel.
Working with the bottle
Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Residual water in the bottle dilutes the contents and, in preserved products, changes the ratio that was taken into account when formulating.
Do not fill the bottle with hot product. PET needs to be protected from heat, so let emulsions, gels and solutions cool to room temperature before filling.
Water-based and oil-based contents are common uses for this material. With undiluted essential oils, alcohol solutions with a high alcohol content and solvents, we recommend first testing the behaviour of the packaging on a smaller sample, or choosing glass. After emptying, the bottle can be washed and refilled, but if you change the contents, repeat the disinfection as well. When you have finished using it, it belongs in the separate plastics collection as PET.
For serial production, before filling the whole batch, fill one bottle, fit your chosen closure and leave it lying on its side for a few days. This lets you check the seal and the behaviour of your specific formulation in the packaging.
