Product description

A plastic bucket with lid, volume 2600 ml, is a complete container and screw-on lid made of polypropylene (PP), designed for mixing, storing and selling larger volumes of cosmetic raw materials and finished products. It is suitable wherever glass is too heavy or fragile: for preparing batches of soap mass, body scrubs, bath salts, masks or cream bases, as well as for storing powdered and loose raw materials, butters and waxes. The white material diffuses light, so light-sensitive contents are better protected than in a clear container. The entire set is approved for direct food contact as well as contact with cosmetics, so it serves equally well in a workshop as in a kitchen.

What the bucket with lid is suitable for

  • Mixing larger batches – the wide opening and stable shape allow comfortable mixing by hand or with an immersion blender, for example when preparing soap mass, sugar and salt scrubs or bath salts.
  • Storing raw materials – vegetable butters, waxes, clays, powders and salts all fit in the bucket. The lid limits access by moisture and dust, which is especially appreciated for raw materials that absorb moisture from the air.
  • Retail packaging for larger volumes – the white bucket with lid is suitable as packaging for finished products sold in larger volumes, for example bath salts, scrubs or masks for salons.
  • Lightweight and unbreakable material – polypropylene is significantly lighter than glass and does not shatter when dropped, making it suitable for carrying, transport and everyday handling in the workshop.
  • Three quality certifications in one package – both the bucket and the lid are declared in cosmetic, food and technical quality, so the same container can be used for cosmetics, food and technical mixtures.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume is the volume for which the bucket is intended for normal filling. The total capacity to the brim is the physical volume of the container up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference represents the reserve for the lid and for expansion or movement of the contents during handling. The bucket should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. For foaming or expanding masses, leave an even larger reserve. Both values are listed in the parameters.

When mixing with an immersion blender, leave enough free space in the bucket. The mass often expands during emulsification and a full bucket is difficult to mix without spillage.

The lid screws onto the bucket and protects the contents from dust and moisture. When storing liquid contents and especially during transport, we recommend verifying the seal with the specific formulation, as the bucket is primarily intended for storage and use in an upright position.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash both the bucket and the lid, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Follow the same procedure for each subsequent use. Polypropylene withstands repeated washing without problems, so the container can be used for a long time.

Polypropylene is resistant to water, alcoholic solutions, oils, salts and common cosmetic raw materials. With concentrated essential oils or solvents that are in direct contact with the plastic for an extended period, we recommend verifying the material's behaviour with the specific formulation. Allow hot phases directly from heating to cool slightly before pouring; sudden temperature changes are not beneficial to plastic.

The bucket is not intended for heating its contents. Heat the oil and water phases in dedicated containers and transfer them to the bucket only for mixing and storage.

The surface of the bucket is suitable for labelling. The white colour stands out well with colour printing. The contents are not visible through the wall, which is an advantage for light-sensitive products and a disadvantage for products meant to attract by appearance.

Both the bucket and the lid are made from a single material, polypropylene, so after use they are recycled as plastic without the need to separate parts. Store them in a dry and clean environment.

Frequently asked questions

Is the plastic bucket with lid suitable for storing food?
Yes, both the bucket and the lid are declared suitable for direct food contact, so the complete set is approved for food use. It can be used for dry foods, herbal blends, homemade salts or sugar mixtures. A declaration of conformity is available with the product. Wash the container before first use and allow to dry.
Does the white plastic bucket protect contents from light?
Yes, white polypropylene diffuses light, so the contents are not exposed to direct light as in a clear container. For light-sensitive raw materials, such as vegetable oils, butters or preparations with essential oils, this is an advantage. However, plastic does not protect contents from heat, so store the bucket in a dry and clean environment away from heat sources.
Can soap mass or a scrub be mixed in a plastic bucket?
Yes, the bucket with a volume of 2600 ml is suitable for mixing larger batches, such as soap mass, sugar or salt scrubs and masks. The wide opening allows comfortable work with an immersion blender. Leave free space in the bucket, as the mass often expands during mixing. When working with lye, follow standard safety precautions and keep the bucket on a stable surface.
Can the plastic bucket handle hot raw materials?
The bucket is not intended for heating its contents, but it can handle warm phases. Allow melted butters, waxes or a heated oil phase to cool slightly before pouring and avoid sudden temperature changes. Perform the actual heating in dedicated containers and use the bucket only for mixing and storage.
How to clean the plastic bucket before reuse?
Wash both the bucket and the lid with warm water and detergent, rinse, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Polypropylene withstands repeated washing without damage, so the bucket is suitable for long-term use. Before refilling, check that no residue from the previous contents or odours remain in the container, especially after strongly scented ingredients.
Is the plastic bucket suitable for water-based, alcoholic and oil-based contents?
Yes, polypropylene is resistant to water, alcoholic solutions and oils, so the bucket is suitable for all three types of contents. For prolonged contact with concentrated essential oils or solvents, we recommend verifying the material's behaviour in practice. For liquid contents, verify the lid's seal with the specific formulation, especially if you plan to transport the bucket.
