White Plastic Double Wall Jar, 5 ml

The jar has a double wall: the inner container, which holds the product, is placed inside an outer shell. The contents therefore do not touch the outer wall, the packaging looks fuller, and even at such a small volume it sits well in the hand. Both the jar and the lid are made of polypropylene; the lid also has a sealing insert.

What the set is suitable for

The jar is designed for semi-solid and solid contents: creams, butters, balms, solid perfumes, ointments, cream eyeshadows, or solid deodorants in small packaging. It is not suitable for liquid and thin products (tonics, serums, oils) – the wide neck and open-jar application are designed for consistencies that will not spill.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. It is not approved for food contact, so do not use it for packing food, spices, or homemade syrups.

Nominal and total volume

For every container, we distinguish two values. Nominal volume is the amount the container is designed to hold under normal filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the lid with its sealing insert and for the expansion of the contents when temperature changes. Fill the jar to the nominal volume, not to the brim – otherwise the contents will be pushed onto the thread when screwing the lid on and the lid will not seal.

Good to know

Before the first fill, wash both the jar and the lid, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry completely. The double wall means two nested parts – when cleaning, take care that no water remains between them.

Polypropylene is resistant to most cosmetic raw materials, including plant oils, butters, glycerin, and common emulsions. With anhydrous products containing a high proportion of essential oils, or with formulations containing solvents, we recommend first checking the container's behaviour on a small sample and monitoring the surface of both the plastic and the sealing insert.

Once emptied and washed, the jar can be reused. The packaging is made of polypropylene and, once empty, belongs in the sorted plastics recycling stream.
