What the lid is suitable for

The lid is intended primarily for wide-neck jars from which the product is scooped with fingers or a spatula. Polypropylene can be washed multiple times; however, with strongly aromatic contents, the material may gradually absorb the scent.

Polypropylene is resistant to most cosmetic ingredients. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils or with solvents, we recommend testing the lid's behaviour with the specific formulation in practice, as with any plastic.

The seal of the combination depends on the pairing of lid and jar. The lid is suitable for jars with a thread of the same type as stated in the parameters. The lid is not intended for filling with hot contents or for heating together with the jar. High temperatures may alter the shape of the thread and reduce the seal.

Will the plastic lid keep a jar with cream tightly sealed?

When properly tightened onto a jar with a matching thread, the lid reliably seals semi-solid and solid products. Tightness with more liquid contents depends on the specific jar and thread precision; the lid itself has no anti-spill seal. When shipping products, we recommend testing the seal beforehand and, for liquid formulations, choosing a jar with an inner sealing liner.
