Black dropper with safety ring, 71 mm

The black dropper with safety ring is designed for precise drop-by-drop dispensing of liquid cosmetic preparations. The screw cap holds a glass tube with a silicone bulb, which draws up and releases the contents drop by drop. It is particularly suited for facial serums, oil blends, tinctures and concentrated active ingredients, where it matters that the customer always takes a small, repeatable amount. The safety ring also confirms that the bottle has not been opened before first use.

The dropper fits bottles and vials with an 18/415 neck. Bottles with the same neck type as well as ready-made dropper bottle combinations are available in the Handymade range. What the dropper consists of and how it works

• PP cap – a black screw closure that holds the glass tube and seals the bottle neck. The black colour is neutral and pairs well with amber, blue, frosted and clear glass.
• Silicone bulb – pressing draws the contents up; releasing dispenses it drop by drop. Silicone is flexible and retains its shape under normal use even after many compressions.
• Glass tube – a smooth tube with a tapered tip through which the contents are dispensed. Glass does not react with most cosmetic formulations and is easy to clean.
• Safety ring – on first unscrewing it separates from the cap and stays on the bottle neck. Both the manufacturer and the customer can see at a glance whether the product has been opened.

What contents it is suitable for

The dropper is intended for liquid and slightly viscous contents that can be drawn into the tube and dispensed drop by drop: low-viscosity aqueous and gel serums, facial and hair oils, essential oil blends in a carrier oil, tinctures, active ingredient concentrates, and oil extracts. It is also suitable for customers who blend their own formulations and need to dispense small volumes precisely.

It is less suitable for thick serums with a higher proportion of thickeners and for creamy or emulsion textures. These are difficult to draw into the tube or do not dispense evenly. A pump dispenser or jar is a better choice for such products.

What to know when filling and using

Volume allowance. The bottle is filled to its nominal volume, not to the brim. The inserted tube displaces some of the contents upward, and an overfilled bottle will overflow into the neck and under the cap when the dropper is screwed on. The difference between the nominal volume and the total bottle capacity is precisely the allowance for the dropper.

Preparation before first filling. Before use, we recommend rinsing the dropper, disinfecting it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and letting it dry completely. This is especially important with aqueous formulations, where moisture and residual contaminants put a strain on the preservative system.

Dispensing and hygiene. The tube should not touch the skin or other surfaces to prevent contamination from entering the bottle. The bulb is pressed slowly and the bottle held upright for even drops.

Material and contents. The glass tube is resistant to oils, alcohol and essential oils. With formulations containing a high proportion of essential oils, solvents or strong active ingredients, we recommend checking the behaviour of the silicone bulb and seal over time, for example with a short test before filling an entire batch.

Reuse. The dropper can be washed and used again, but the safety ring cannot be restored once it has been opened. When selling finished products, each new bottle therefore requires a new dropper. After use, glass and plastic should be sorted separately by material.
