Product description
The black dropper with tamper-evident ring is a closure that seals the bottle tightly while allowing the contents to be dispensed drop by drop. It is suitable for facial serums, face, hair and beard oils, and other thin formulations that are dosed in small amounts.
The tamper-evident ring on the bottom edge of the cap gives manufacturers who sell or gift cosmetics a simple way to show packaging integrity.
Key features
- Drop-by-drop dispensing – pressing and releasing the bulb draws a small amount of contents into the tube, which can be dispensed at once or drop by drop directly onto the skin or into the palm.
- First-opening tamper evidence – the ring separates from the cap on first unscrewing and remains on the neck, making it immediately visible that the packaging has already been opened.
- Glass pipette tube – glass does not react with cosmetic ingredients, does not transfer odour to the contents, and is easy to clean.
- Silicone bulb – flexible and self-returning to its original shape after compression.
- Hygienic dispensing – contents are not handled by fingers and the bottle remains open only briefly, reducing the risk of product contamination.
Suitable products
The dropper works best with thin to medium-viscosity liquids: water-based and oil-based serums, facial oils, hair and beard oil blends, tonics in small volumes, and active ingredient concentrates. Thick oils and gel textures draw up slowly and cling to the walls of the tube. For these, a pump is more practical.
The dropper length must be matched to the height of the bottle. The tube should end just above the bottom so that the last of the contents can be drawn up. If it rests against the bottom, the cap will not seat on the neck and the closure will not seal.
When filling, it is worth distinguishing between the nominal and total volume of the bottle. Nominal volume is the quantity the container is intended for under normal filling. Total volume is the physical capacity up to the rim of the neck. The difference between them provides clearance for the dropper and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes.
Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the rim. Once inserted, the tube will displace some of the contents, and in an overfilled bottle the formulation will reach the thread and get under the cap.
Good to know
Bottles with the same neck type (listed in the product parameters) and ready-made bottle-and-dropper combinations are available from Handymade. For a custom combination, we recommend checking the seal, dispensing behaviour, and how the closure performs with the specific formulation.
Before first use, the dropper is washed, disinfected with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and left to dry completely. It is important to dry the inside of the bulb and tube as well. Any remaining water would enter the product, which is particularly problematic for anhydrous oil blends without preservation.
Screw the dropper onto the filled bottle intended for the customer. The tamper-evident ring works only on first closing. Test on the specific bottle in advance to confirm that the ring holds on the neck and separates on opening.
The dropper is suitable for use with cosmetic products; the declaration is stated in the product parameters. It consists of several materials, so it must be disassembled into its individual parts before sorting for recycling.
