Product description

Black glossy dropper, 84 mm seals the bottle and dispenses its contents precisely drop by drop – without touching the neck and without waste. It consists of a glass tube, a silicone bulb, and a black glossy screw cap with 18/410 thread that fits any bottle with the same neck type. It is suited wherever small doses are required – for serums, facial oils, beard and hair oils, tinctures, and concentrates. Glass absorbs neither fragrance nor colorants, making the dropper suitable for essential oils and alcohol-based extracts that would degrade plastic dispensers over time.

The dropper is suitable for use with cosmetic products and meets the applicable regulatory requirements; the declaration of conformity is provided in the product parameters.

What the dropper is suitable for

  • Serums and facial oils – the user dispenses exactly the amount needed without touching the neck or the remaining contents, reducing the risk of contamination in a leave-on product.
  • Essential oils, fragrance compositions, tinctures – the glass tube is neutral to strong fragrances and alcohol.
  • Active ingredients and concentrates – additives for custom formulations are dispensed drop by drop without unnecessary waste.
  • Consistent line appearance – the glossy black cap pairs well with amber, black, and frosted glass.

How the dropper works

Squeezing the silicone bulb expels air from the tube; releasing it draws the contents in. Gentle repeated squeezing then dispenses the liquid drop by drop. The dropper works reliably with low to medium viscosity liquids – oils, water-based serums, and alcohol extracts. Thick gels, balms, and highly viscous oils are difficult to draw into the tube and cannot be dispensed drop by drop in any practical way; a pump or jar is more appropriate for such products.

The length of the glass tube is determined by the height of the bottle. A correctly chosen dropper reaches nearly to the bottom so the last of the contents can be drawn up. A tube that is too long rests on the bottom and prevents the cap from seating; one that is too short leaves part of the product unreachable. The length stated in the name refers specifically to the glass section, which is used to match the dropper to the bottle.

When selecting a bottle, check two things – the neck type and the bottle height relative to the dropper length. Bottles with the matching neck and ready-made bottle-and-dropper combinations are available from Handymade; if combining your own bottle with the dropper, verify the seal and confirm that the tube reaches the bottom before filling a full batch.

What to know before use

The dropper is supplied as a technical component, so before first use we recommend washing and sanitising it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing it to dry completely. Moisture in the tube would dilute a water-based contents and cloud an oil-based one.

Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. When the dropper is screwed in, the glass tube displaces some contents towards the neck; the gap between the nominal and total volume is there precisely for the tube and to accommodate expansion of the contents with temperature changes. An overfilled bottle will overflow at the thread when closed and the seal will leak.

Store and transport the filled bottle upright so the contents do not sit in the silicone bulb over time. With undiluted essential oils and strong solvents, we recommend verifying the bulb's long-term behaviour before putting the product on sale.

Undiluted essential oils and alcohol-based extracts should remain in prolonged contact only with the glass tube. The bulb is not designed to hold product – once the contents have been drawn in, always dispense them and do not lay the bottle on its side.

After thorough washing and sanitising, the dropper can be reused provided the thread is undamaged and the bulb remains springy. When disposing of it, separate the glass tube and silicone bulb from the cap – the component is a combination of glass, aluminium, plastic, and silicone.

Frequently asked questions

Which bottles does the Black glossy dropper, 84 mm fit?
The Black glossy dropper, 84 mm fits bottles with an 18/410 neck whose height corresponds to the length of the glass tube. The neck type is listed in each bottle's parameters. When pairing your own bottle with the dropper, confirm that the tube reaches nearly to the bottom without resting on it; if it does, the cap will not seat properly and the joint will not seal.
Is the Black glossy dropper, 84 mm suitable for essential oils?
Yes, the glass tube is resistant to essential oils and alcohol and does not retain fragrances. Store the bottle upright, however, so that undiluted oil does not sit in the silicone bulb over extended periods. With concentrates, we recommend verifying the bulb's behaviour over time before putting the product on sale.
Is the Black glossy dropper, 84 mm suitable for thick oil or gel?
The dropper is designed for liquids of low to medium viscosity. Slightly thicker oils or light gels can still be drawn in, but dispensing will be slow and imprecise. Thick balms, butters, and viscous gels cannot be drawn into the tube in any practical sense; a pump, tube, or jar is more suitable for those.
How is the Black glossy dropper, 84 mm cleaned before first use and for repeated use?
Wash the dropper with warm water and a mild cleanser, rinse, sanitise with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry completely. For repeated use, repeat the procedure and check that the bulb is still springy and the cap thread is undamaged so the joint with the bottle remains sealed.
Why should a bottle with a dropper not be filled to the brim?
A bottle fitted with a dropper is filled only to the nominal volume because the glass tube, once screwed in, displaces some of the contents towards the neck. The difference between the nominal and total volume is the allowance for the dropper and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. An overfilled bottle will overflow at the thread when closed, causing the joint to leak.
