Product description
Plastic oil dispenser, 18 mm, black is a complete pump and transparent cap that turns an ordinary bottle with an 18 mm neck into a convenient dispensing container for facial and body oils, oil serums and other liquid oil preparations. Instead of pouring or dripping, the product is dispensed by pressing the head, always in roughly the same small amount. This saves the contents and is cleaner in everyday use.
It is suitable wherever a few drops are enough for a single use: with facial oils, cuticle oil, beard oil or concentrated oil serums. The black pump matches both brown and black bottles, and the transparent cap protects the head from dust and accidental pressing while being carried.
Why choose a dispenser with a small dose
- Precise small dosing – a single press releases only a few drops, so concentrated oils and serums do not spill over and consumption stays under control.
- More hygienic use – the contents are not poured out or scooped with fingers, the bottle neck stays closed and the product is less contaminated.
- Head protection – the transparent cap prevents dust from settling on the outlet and stops accidental pressing in a bag or during transport.
- Tube reaching the bottom – the pump draws the product from the bottom, so the bottle can be emptied almost completely, even when it is narrow and tall.
- Suitability for cosmetics – both parts of the set are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity is available with the product.
How the set is used with a bottle
The dispenser is intended for bottles with an 18 mm neck. The thread type is stated in the parameters and must match the thread of the bottle, otherwise the pump will not seal. You will find bottles with the same neck as well as ready-made bottle + dispenser combinations in the Handymade range. For your own combination we recommend checking in advance that the tube reaches the bottom and that the head sits firmly once tightened.
The length of the tube is stated in the parameters. For lower bottles, the tube is shortened with a sharp knife or scissors so that its end rests slightly against the bottom or ends just above it. A long tube bends in a low bottle and the pump then draws less well.
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The space above the surface is a reserve for the tube and the pump body, which push part of the contents upwards when screwed in. If the bottle is overfilled, the oil overflows through the neck when tightened.
After screwing it on, "prime" the pump with a few empty presses until the tube fills and the first dose comes out complete. The first presses release only air or an incomplete dose; this is not a fault of the part.
One full press releases approximately 0.18 ml, which corresponds to a few drops. The actual amount depends on the viscosity of the product and on whether the head is pressed all the way down. With thicker oils and in cold conditions the dose tends to be slightly smaller.
Suitable for products such as
- Facial oils and oil serums – a small dose corresponds to the usual amount for a single application to the face or décolletage area.
- Beard oils, hair ends and cuticle oils – products that are dispensed drop by drop and where a larger amount would leave a greasy film.
- Blends of essential oils in a carrier oil – for example massage blends, provided the proportion of essential oils is low and compatibility with the plastic is verified.
- Light liquid oil-type serums – for example squalane or ester bases that flow freely.
This dispenser is not built for thick oils close to the consistency of butter, balms and creams. A thicker mass is drawn through the tube with difficulty and the dose is irregular. For such products, pumps with a larger dose or jars are more suitable.
What is good to know
Preparation before first filling. We recommend rinsing the pump and cap before use: pump the tube and body through with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, let it dry completely and only then screw it onto the filled bottle.
Plastic and concentrated substances. Pure essential oils, citrus essences and alcohol solutions can over time swell or soften the plastic seal and tube. The set is intended for oils and oil blends. With a higher proportion of essential oils or alcohol we recommend verifying the behaviour of the pump on a single bottle for several weeks before larger filling.
This is not an airless system. With each press, air is drawn into the bottle to replace the dispensed volume. For oils sensitive to oxidation, an antioxidant in the formulation therefore has its place, and it is worth choosing smaller bottles that are used up more quickly.
Reuse. The pump can be used repeatedly if, after emptying, it is pumped through with warm water and detergent, then alcohol, and left to dry completely. Before refilling, check that the head still springs and that the dose comes out smoothly. If old oil has hardened in the tube, it is more reliable to replace the pump.
The set is declared for cosmetic products. It is not approved for contact with food, so it is not suitable for dispensing edible oils, vinegars or syrups.
